I think you need to educate your self (no offense) about the female anatomy if you haven't already. Your G-spot (internal) is the base of your clit (external). Different girls get off via clitoral stimulation in different ways, you have to find what works for you. ex. Up and downward motion, or circular motion, left and right, etc. You have to learn your body better in order to figure it out is all, a little bit of patience will go a long way.

Since you seem to know where your clit is, if just having the vibrator around the hood of your clit doesn't work, try pulling the hood up and placing the vibrator directly on your exposed clit.
