I'm currently a 20 year old virgin, and I plan to wait until marriage before I do the deed.
The reason I'm choosing to abstain from sex is religious in origin. However, now it's just a matter of principle and sort of a personal goal of mine. You see, I have already decided that I want to marry a virgin and I figured "how can I demand a virgin if I'm not a virgin myself?" The reason I want a virgin is so that both of our first times will be together and will therefore be more memorable. Also, I don't want to constantly be (or at least feel like I'm being) compared to her past partner(s). In addition, I'm not ready for a baby right now, nor do I find the idea of STDs pleasurable. Performance anxiety may also be a problem.
While many of you may disagree with my decision or (more likely) my reasoning, this is where I stand. I've already had my friends try to convince me to relax my standards--there's more to my criteria than just being a virgin--but I rightly refuse. Unlike them, I'm ok with never finding the girl for me. I settle for no one.
(There I go again. Long-winded as usual. It's just that I spend so much time introspecting and reflecting that when I'm asked to talk/write about myself I just can't seem to shut up.)
I grew up in a religious household. I was born again when I was 12. Yes, even as old as I am (48), I am still a virgin. Why? Primarily because fornication is a sin. But also I grew up in a single parent household. I watched my mom destroy her health working jobs that, honestly, were meant for men. She destroyed her joints working backbreaking jobs. I determined that my wife would never have to do that. Unfortunately, by the time I was financially stable enough to marry and support a wife and children, too much time had passed. Most of the "available" women my age didn't want to start a "new" family. Meaning, they didn't want more children.
So, I have become content in the fact that I will never marry. And of course, fornication is still a sin. I commend all the ladies here who have decided to keep their virginities. May God bless you all and provide you with decent, honorable Christian men who will appreciate the special gift you have saved for them.

But I only got attention from one guy, a stud who had like 20 girlfriends before me and I felt like he thought it was his right to pollinate women. I wanted a virgin like myself, and the older I got, the less likely that was going to happen.
I am well educated and I have experienced career success, but for some reason, I do not get approached for relationships. Only solicited for sex. Do the guys think I should be desperate because I am overweight (I am a size 16/18, not so bad). I don't know what it is. I always thought that I would meet that nice shy guy and we would live a counter-culture but happy life, not like the cool kids. But really build something good based on friendship.

I'm a 21 year old virgin girl, I'm a Christian, I work and go to school, and I'm pretty too. You would think someone like me would have a boyfriend I don't I think the reason why is because God has someone intended for you, I am trying to work on me while I wait and trust me I get lonely as hell and I crave someone I can hang with but guys now a days don't really want to wait and trust me. I know there are some really good guys be patient. Each time I try to find a guy they try to break me and it's hurts like crud. God has a good guy for you just wait and keep yourself.
I'm a virgin! My boyfriend and I were actually talking about why we want to wait until our wedding night although he is not a virgin. He wants this night to be something special between us and I agree. I mean if we were to go off and have sex every week or even day, our wedding night would just be like any other day of having sex. He says he wants to knock my socks off that night. ;] oh baby. bahahaha. It's totally worth the wait for that special night of bonding. =]

No, I'm not waiting for religious reasons, and I'm not necessarily waiting until marriage. I'm just not ready yet, and I haven't met the right guy. When I have both of those things--I'm ready, and I feel that I'm with the right guy--I'll know. And if the right guy happens to be waiting until marriage, so be it. I'm in no rush.

I'm a virgin because I was an ugly duckling until age 17. Then the only guys that took an interest in me were the weird stalker types or the "I don't know what I want" types. Now, I'm in a relationship with a man I love dearly and I'm waiting for marriage because he is waiting for marriage.

I am a virgin at 29... It's a personal and religious choice. It is difficult because I have only had one girlfriend that lasted two months. I have social problems, so I can't really talk to girls or be around girls without being uncomfortable. I'm a 31 year old virgin. It's been mostly a choice, with a few instances that were not my choice. I used to always be proud of what I am. I always thought I'd get with a virgin as well for it to be memorable, experiential, clean, and no past worries.
Things now are starting to make me feel weird and way out of the norm because of my age. I feel unexperienced and adolescent. I have very good education and take care of myself physically.
