I recently read a book that shed some light on why it arouses me so much. The book is called Male Sexuality: Why women don't understand it (and men don't either) by Michael Bader. The major theme from the book is that

In my (and many other guys') case, I had a deeply held pathological belief that women don't enjoy sex. Sex was something women didn't find enjoyable and they surrender it grudgingly to men to shut us up and keep us happy. It's totally irrational, of course, but you'd be surprised how many men are affected by this stuff.

Anyway, that belief makes it easy to see why I find female masturbation so damn arousing. When a woman masturbates she is enjoying sexual pleasure simply for it's own sake.
