I don't like tampons because most tampons are quite unhealthy as most of the major brands contain rayon which causes micro-laceration to the vaginal walls, and they are also bleached (who wants bleach inside their body?). So I prefer girls stick with pads.
i also don't like knowing there is a potential for Toxic shock syndrome which although rare can be fatal and pads mean there is not as big a worry for her if she forgets to change after a period of time so really I think its much healthier for her to wear pads.
Why do you know so much about tampons? Your a guy, and unless your a doctor, why does it matter what a chick chooses to wear?
I prefer my girlfriend to use a pad instead of a tampon because I just think overall it's safer, easier, and you don't have to bother about it when you're getting intimate.
The only thing is, my girlfriend almost avoids tampons like the plague and she won't go swimming or do any exercise with me because she's wearing a pad :P there are options for a reason in my opinion, but I'm not a woman so I don't think I understand too much of it.
I can tell you that tampons can cause TSS (toxic shock syndrome), that can be fatal even though it's very rare. However, besides that heatlh reason I don't understand how he could have a problem with it. If she wants to wear something other than a pad but not a tampon, tell her about Instead soft cups; they are much better for a female than a tampon.
