To say that men are visual creatures doesn't necessarily means that we're more visual than women. It's just that we're PRIMARILY visual and I get the feeling that women are more multifaceted than that.
Women can get turned on in all kinds of crazy ways (or so I gather). All of their five senses could play a role where as with is it's kind of one sided. Not that sounds, scents, tastes or feelings do nothing for us but visual stimulus is far more powerful to us. I think that to a woman attraction is more of a feeling (than it is for men) and can be triggered in a multitude of ways just like any other feeling (joy, jealousy, anger, for example). For men it's almost closer to a reflex (see a girl, cue the attraction).
I guess that difference is one of the reasons we have such a hard time attracting the opposite sex: different stimuli trigger the same response and thus we can't really wrap our head around how the others' brain works. And personally, I think that's where the "shallow" part comes in to play.
I propose that, because of the multifaceted nature of female attraction, a simple visual attraction to someone seems shallow though a woman's eyes. And I understand why women think that. Certainly it's a poor indicator of someone's potential as a mate. But it's not as unwholesome as it sounds. We do love girls for their personalities and what's inside counts and it's that character that will carry the relationship into the long term.
I don't think 'looks' are shallow tho. They are part of the spirit and soul of the person they belong to. For ex. No one else could look like you -even in your body, because your personality energy and spirit form your looks:) Its mostly just curious to me,what exactly is being referred to. I also think its selling guys short to have them believe they are that consumed with the visual.. It also has not been my experience. lol guys in my life are headaches, but not because they were visual ^^
There are several ways of explaining this. In a sense it is both at the same time. It can mean that males have a skin deep view on beauty, although that is true for some males it is not true for all of them. It can mean that guys have a sexuality that is very responsive to visual stimulation. It can also mean that guys respond better to visual displays of affection. I have to leave you to make you decision on what of these three interpretations is correct for each person, and one person can fit more than 1 of these interpretations. I hope I was able to help.
Thank u. I see no problem with anything you said, I just fail to see how some of those things , do not also apply to 'some' women a well. & some other things things apply more to some other women. What does being a man or a woman have to do with being visual. We all have eyes we all use them unless we are blind. are you saying a blind guy can not truly be a guy, because guys are mostly visual?
No, first look up pheromones to answer your blind question because blind people are more receptive to sound and smell than people who can see. It is just that in most males visual intimacy is important as the physical part. It is kind of like the saying that girls are more vocal during orgasms, is it true, in some people it is in some it is not.
Lol I'm pretty sure girls are only more vocal because guys are taught its girly to make noise, like with p*rn women scream like someones strangling(so annoying) a cat and the guys are mute, I personally like to be silent when I'm intimate it's less distracting. I know blind people rely on other senses, but a male blind person is still a male, I was saying that by your argument you are better off being a women if blind.
Everyone is superficial to an extent.I think guys in general are more superficial because society accepts it and basically looks are all that matter to them,I just see no reason to complain about it,cause then they get whiny and biatchy

I think they are not as visual as most claim to be,I think a majority of the population(whether male or female) are visual to an extent,some more than others,but Society creates many excuses for men in general,so of course,this is one of them. I said to not make a deal of it,only because they're going to continue to make claims that society provokes. I just meant by not complaining that I do ask this question a lot to myself,but I don't even bother trying to...ask or idk,express my views.

well, maybe its no pure prejudice, but I think it is kind of acquired ... a "constant" set up by social rules ... in combination with an effect called "self fulfilling prophecy" and biased perception

ON AVERAGE, feelings and relationships play a smaller part our sex lives then they do in yours. We see her, we like her, we f*ck her--we'll figure out the next morning how we feel about her.

No way to know that's no because that's how your brought up - nurture over nature. Plenty of guys who would be hurt by that same scenario, plenty of girls would not e stupid enough to assume anything is real the first night, and plenty of other gils who wold not cate either way. As I mentioned before.its seems more like a marketing ploy then an actual biological inherent difference , and the answers so far have al been culturally based. Welllll , I don't read romance novels., unless I want to throw up. They are so rediculous and excessive. I love looking at everything, the world is full of fascinating sights that give so much color to life, that of course includes the human body , I don't even think without pictures in my head- everything is visual, and I def have no d***... Its an empty prejudice I'm quite sure.
