  • So long as we're talking the real burlesque and not just a bunch of strippers licking a brass pole. I think it's pretty entertaining, yeah. It's silly, it's playful, it's sexy, and if done right while it occasionally indulges in more leud or raunchy entertainment, if done right it's still pretty tongue-in-cheek. Basically, you just sit back, listen to dirty humor, maybe take in some half naked people, or rudely dressed men and women performing cheeky musical numbers or sketch comedy, or something. Anyway yeah it's fun.

    Also, I know this is from a musical, but I think this pretty much sums up the kind of stuff seen in a burlesque show.

  • Aungghhgh. First of all, the burlesque stripteases are like, one of my greatest fetishes, particularly the feather dance stuff. Aunghhhhh. I go crazy for it. But I love the whole culture and art to it, too. The clothing is amazing, and I love it in like, particularly old french, where you had the old grimy lounge lizards stalking the place, and the French Chanson singers howling into their microphones in front of an accordion between shows. That was really dirty, and just beautiful, man, beautiful. American and European Burlesque were very different, both are gorgeous, though.There's a place near me that hosts Burlesque Nights, I was actually asked to play at one, but it fell through.
