What does it really mean to give your virginity?

I personally didn't view it as anything special. I saw it as one of those essential events in life but it's not like I felt like it was giving a part of me away. It was more of an obstacle really for me because I knew it was going to hurt so I just wanted to get it over with so it could start feeling good later. The only thing I was careful about was doing it with someone that actually care about me enough to make an effort to not hurt me too much and to listen to me if I wanted to change my mind or stop. Hell, you basically get revirginized, for women, after a certain time of not having sex (I think maybe 7 years?). You'd basically need your cherry popped again after that. I also view sex as something natural and biological we do as humans and animals. It's just part of nature. But I do realize that if you do it with someone you love it feels way better and means something else because sex is pretty mental too.

Depends on your beliefs I guess, but to me it means nothing really. It's purely a man-made concept that doesn't make any sense. It's like asking what it means to ride a bike for the first time. People are just hyped about it because of religion. If religion didn't exist, nobody would give two shits about having sex for the first time.

to a girl its usually something really special because the emotional attachment gets worse because its some type of emotion that gets struck up and they will not only get hurt emotionally but mentally :/

Spiritual people use the phrase to reference them having sex the first time with a significant other. Since you can't physically give someone your virginity, it is the essence in a spiritual sense.

It can affect how you look at sex though it's more emotional than anything else. Sex is primarily an emotional thing whatever state of mind you are in though it helps to have a massive cock.

I don't really think of it in terms of like.. giving something away. It was about having sex for the first time, and sharing an intimate moment with another person.
