Nothing, it's actually pretty natural. The Bible says nothing on the personal aspects of sex, including self gratifying sex.

Leviticus does, even though it also talks about a lot of other "donts" that don't really apply to today and Jesus was asked about lust, which I'm not sure if you can masturbate without lusting about someone or something. It's difficult because people pick and choose what they want from the Bible. What I've found is that there are very few topics that the Bible shies away from. I expected better from a Bible thumper MrWizard...

If you want to use Leviticus 15:32: "These are the regulations for a man with a discharge, for anyone made unclean by an emission of semen", remember being unclean just meant you couldn't go into the temple, not that you had sinned. All sorts of things could make you unclean, like a woman giving birth.

Absolutely nothing. Sexually and psychologically, masturbation is completely normal and healthy. If you mean in terms of religion, that's up for interpretation.

Well some people believe religiously that its wrong (because you would be spilling your seed) but other than that I can't think of a reason its bad.

I actually do agree with what you said here. But to say the Bible doesn't cover the topic of masturbation is kind of misleading. Do the words masturbation pop up? I don't know about that, but there are scriptures that would lead to the topic.

The thing that gets me about Christians is that you pick and choose what yall will believe out of the Bible. Matthew 5:28 Jesus says that even if you lust after a woman in your mind you've sinned. I haven't met one guy who hasn't been able to beat off without thinking about some woman. So wouldn't that fall under this category or is Jesus wrong? Ephesians 5:3 I believe talks about don't let even a hint of sexual immorality because it's improper. So what falls under that category?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not against masturbation, its awesome. I just find it weird that all the signs point to masturbation being wrong in the Bible and yet because it doesn't say it in black and white "don't masturbate!" that makes it ok. I just always like to hear what Christians say because it's always a different answer.
