What would you do if your daughter/sister got raped at a high school party?

This makes me so angry, I have 2 sisters around that age and if that ever happened to either one of them I swear I would personally castrate all of the boys involved and let them starve until they are hungry enough to eat their own balls. That includes the football coach too. I don't even care if I would spend the rest of my life in prison after that, justice is justice.

I don't even care if its the girls fault for going to parties and getting too drunk every weekend, I mean that isn't good but it doesn't justify what they did to her. What do you think about this?

    Have her seek counseling and advise her to keep it to herself not in the sense of denial or repression but just not talking about it to those that aren't paid medical professionals.

    The counseling would in my opinion help her with any negative emotions such as guilt, anger, disgust (at herself and the rapist), fear, and distrust.

    The advice of keeping it to herself would likely prevent her from most likely being subjected to it seems the common treatment of male on female rape victims a in my observations most people, particularly guys, blame and shame the gal as they defend and protect the rapist.

    I think she possibly wouldn't have been placed in that situation by those guys if she had never allowed herself to be drunk, alone, or otherwise vulnerable around a d*ck that's not related or gay. I also think your statement with the part "her fault" is why I'd advised her to keep it to herself.

  • I see you asked this a while ago but the case has been on my mind this week because of the larger issues it presents.

    My younger sister was drugged and raped by a frat boy who was her date and someone she trusted. She went to the police but it was his word against hers and they could not arrest him without some evidence. He got off scott-free and now works as a TEACHER! WITH KIDS!

    It's all fine and good to say you would castrate someone and of course you want to but in the end what can you really do? Years later she is still affected and I still want his d*** on a platter.

    My feeling is that this is where the justice system really fails. People keep saying, let the system work and it will show the truth, but not in the case of rape. It fails more than it delivers. There is very little anyone can do to hold someone accountable. If I do something he will press charges and he still wins. It's f***ed up.

    • I am not worried about that. I just want justice. He has affected her in so many ways and she is a different person now. I hate him for that and I want him to pay badly

  • Me and my siblings were raised to be independent and confident and to take charge of our own destinies, and so my sisters didn't go out and put themselves in this kind of danger in the first place. That didn't/doesn't make them immune from all attacks, though.

    If something like that were to happen, and she knew exactly who it was, I'd do everything to help the police build a solid case. If we didn't know who it was, I'd use every resource I had to track them down and investigate (something I'm quite good at), and help build a case.

    In the event that we knew who it was, but the justice system failed, well, I don't want to speculate.

  • My Dad's cousin got raped at knife-point after she moved to a really bad neighborhood. The cops couldn't do anything but take samples and a description of the guy who came in the window that night. He said he'd be back for seconds sometime, so she called for bars to be installed on her windows as soon as she got done with the cops. Then she bought a 12 ga shotgun and a box of buckshot. He came back two days later and she plastered the wall of her bedroom with him. No charges filed.

    • We thought she'd get in trouble for it, but nobody wanted to bring charges against her for defending herself given the situation and the police report from the previous rape. There's no way a jury would have voted to convict her of anything anyway. She did what anybody would have done. She shot a monster that was trying to hurt her. The local cops actually gave her some serious props for taking care of him for them. Sometimes the justice system works.
