  • These people are insane, but do not want to be made sane.

Just look at the sort of people their beliefs attract...

Ann Lee - Opposed ALL procreation and sexual activity. If she had her way, humanity would die out in a generation.

The Skoptzys sect - Practised castration and breast mutilation.

Gnostics - All matter is evil and married couples should be celibate. Bye bye humanity again.

These people hate themselves, hate humanity, hate all *matter* in some cases. And their desire to self-harm themselves, in particular their genitals, is symptomatic of several mental illnesses.

Sadly, not only do we not have the cure for such illnesses, these people wouldn't take it if it was freely available.

    • However, the existence of the League served as an important public reminder of the Party's disapproval of all attachments and activities which could diminish exclusive loyalty to the Party, and that everything other than "normal intercourse between man and wife, for the sole purpose of begetting children, and without physical pleasure on the part of the woman" was forbidden sexcrime, which could be punished by death.

    • The Junior Anti-Sex League, in George Orwell's dystopian novel Nineteen Eighty-Four, was a group of young adult Party members devoted to banning all sexual intercourse, and replacing its procreative functions with the use of artificial insemination (children would be raised in public institutions, rather than in individual families). Though the League was founded and countenanced by the all-powerful totalitarian Party, the Party leadership did not allow it to succeed in its goals.

    • This looks a lot like the religious 'Virginity pledges' hold in the bible Belt:

  • Well, I wasn't familiar with the term, so I looked it up on wikipedia.

So, from my limited knowledge, I'd say that I disagree with them, but they're welcome to their own views on sex, so long as they don't push their views on others/can be accepting of people who don't agree.

  • From my quick wikipedia documentation, I understand that they share the views of dogs, who only mate for procreation. I'm more of a dolphin myself, but meh. Whatever floats their boat.

  • their life, why should I care?

  • I agree with them. sex is for reproducing... not pleasure, and I think it's gross when people do it for pleasure.

    • You'll either be missing a lot or have enough children to populate a school.

    • No. I don't like sex.

  • Antisexuals seem harmless enough, just as long as they realize that the majority of us don't share their views.
