Most say to continue using another form of contraception for about 2 weeks from the first pill you took. But it varies slightly from pill to pill - check the reading matter with it. Your doctor/nurse should have told you when they prescribed it; so if you're not sure, go back and double check.
Warning I feel compelled to add. Std checks. And the pill isn't 100% - do this at your own risk. Other forms of medication such as antibiotics can effect it - so if doing so - use another form of contraception at the same time.
Did you start the pill your first Sunday after your your period started? It's usually two weeks after you've started the pill that you are safe!

You're definitely safe after 2 weeks. I wouldn't let him do it prior to that. I used to be on Loestrin 24, and that was the advice that my doctor gave me. You also need to make sure that you take your pill at the same time everyday for it to be the most effective! When I was on the pill I set a daily alarm on my phone for 10am so that I remembered to take it.

I would wait at least a month, but honestly, please please use condoms with it. BC is not infallible. Just warning ya.
You need to be on for at least a month before I would even remotely consider this to be safe practice, my girlfriend and I use condoms even after her being on birth control for 2 years and its still heat of the moment when we don't. I would talk to your doctor about the safety threshold of the birth control taking full effect before you try this.
but isn't that what the birth control is for? to not get a girl pregnant?
Birth control is supposed to inhibit the hormones that allow you to get pregnant but it is only 99.3% effective and I know guys that have gotten girls pregnant on the pill. But still wait for the full 30 days or consult your doctor for more information
As I'm sure the paperwork says, you need to wait a full 30 days to be safe.
