Abortion should be legal and unregulated. It should be entirely the mother's choice. She should not be required to have the baby, unless she has previously agreed to do so (one's freely-agreed contractual obligations should be enforced). However, no doctor should be forced to perform an abortion. And abortions should not be tax-financed.
As for the morality of it, every individual should do what is in his or her self-interest. This is an objective standard of morality. Therefore it is right for anyone to judge anyone's actions rationally. Disregarding contraception and using abortion as a form of 'contraception' would indeed be immoral, as that is not the woman's self-interest. Abortion does carry health risks, as well as expenses of time, energy and money. But, every individual has the right to be immoral/irrational, provided that he or she does not violate other individuals' rights.1 0 1 0When I'm not involved as a parent/spectator/friend and don't have to cry about it later for years and years.
Even when they were illegal people still had them, women died from them all the time even. I just always hope people don't put themselves in that situation. That's really all I can do.1 0 0 0Most interesting bathroom graffiti I ever saw was "Does anyone else find it ironic that those who are rabidly pro-choice were never aborted?" And as I stood, urinating, I thought that was an interesting thing to ponder indeed.

I don't really find my opinion in your poll. I do think abortion should be use in last resort, not just for rape victim but to any woman who doesn't want a child though I don't see it as a birth control.
I'm for abortion, I do think it's a woman's right but I also think it's not an easy thing to do and I hope I'll never have to do it.
It's true some women use it as a birth control and I think that's wrong. If we don't want to get pregnant, we have to use the right form of birth control. I have a friend who used the pull out method and had an abortion when she was 19, with a real birth control, it wouldn't have happen.
Many people are uneducated about birth control in the first place and sometimes don't realize what an abortion means4 1 0 0My apologies for not adding that as an option. I do see your point though.
Wait I voted for the wrong one I meant to vote for it being completely okay. Shit happens and who am I to tell you you can't do something with your own body. Also I don't understand your circumstance. Yes there's adoption but most kids is the system run away or age out and eventually end up homeless. Especially in cases of kids with disabilities, why make someone suffer through a life like that?
0 0 0 0It's interesting that you say "most kids in the system age out or run away" but the commenterabove you said 43% age out or run away. That's not "most", that's actually the minority.
i don't support abortion no matter what, its killing a child, its best to give the child for adoption, because there are people who want kids, but can't have. In case of rape or incest, best give adoption, which is worse rape or murder.

NP. I agree with you 100%. Especially the part about adoption. My wife and I were told we could never have children so we adopted. Since then we had a miracle baby. But, I like your point about which one is worse.
43% of kids age out of the adoption or run away due to the poor treatment in the homes and end up up homeless. Being in a home doesn't insure you will ever be adopted, my friend fostered her daughter for 5 years and one day they took her away. She's fighting a battle right now and may have to give up for financial reasons. I saw the girl and she was sad because her mom "returned her". The adoption system in America and around the world is more twisted than we imagine. Also many people who try to adopt aren't seen as fit parents due to things like sexuality or being a single parent, so kids sit in homes even though there are people who want them. And for as many kids in adoption there aren't enough people who want to adopt

6 3Abortion is fine in every single case, granted that it's within a certain time frame. I wouldn't be ok with aborting an 8 month old baby, you know.
0 0 0 0I voted D and that is something I believe and will never change my mind on!
0 0 0 0I will always support abortion as an individual's choice. I wouldn't get one myself but it's not my place to stop anyone else from getting one. And it's certainly not the government's place to tell women they cannot get an abortion. It shouldn't be used as a birth control method though - that's just irresponsible.
If anything, it should be an option in the case of rape or incest. Why force a woman to carry some sicko's baby for 9 months? That's not right.2 1 0 2The thing with abortion is you have to completely support it or not support it, there is no in-between. The biggest problem talking about abortion is people get too emotional about it. It's not my right to decide what other women do with their bodies. People should NEVER force their beliefs on others and many people I know who are pro life do try to force you into believe what they do.
2 0 0 0when the girl doesn't want the baby
1 0 2 0So as a form of birth control then?
