Who spoons with who?

My boyfriend use to spoon with me at night but has told me that the girl is suppose to spoon with the guy? Does it matter?

My boyfriend is a bit taller than me and I LOVE being held from behind because it makes me feel safe. He's asked to be spooned because it gives the guy a similar feeling. Who doesn't want to feel loved and protected? He used to request it, and I feel awkward doing it because the reversed proportions don't work well, but now that I know he enjoys it I usually suggest it.

I've never heard of a girl spooning a guy. Lol but I guess it doesn't matter.

I'd much rather be the outside spoon. I'd just feel awkward if the girl was spooning me. I guess it's because I want to play the "protector."

I prefer the guy to be on the outside as well. It is a protection thing mostly, but also it just feels really nice.

I guess it could be either or but I think usually the dude does the spooning.
