Why do some guys watch yuri? and Why do some girls watch yaoi?

This question has been in my mind since the first time I saw someone trolling about it on an anime vid (they ruined everyone's fun there lol) So I'm wondering why do guys watch yuri and why do girls watch yaoi?

Guys watch yuri for the sex. Guys like the idea of 2 girls because there's no other guy and he imagines that he could join in.

Girls watch yaoi for the romance and/or sex. Yaoi stories are usually emotional angsty drama and girls love that. Some girls like the idea of 2 guys because there's no other girl and she imagines that she could join in.

You're right about the guys part, but to be quiet honest, I'm a girl and I don't watch yaoi for the sex scenes, and I'm grateful they're Censored and not graphic, it's hella gross and annoyingly unrealistic, but I like the romance/story and how the characters look, Yaoi is meant to be emotional, drama, which is why most of the fandom are girls, we prefer the romance ;)

Hence I put 'some girls' for the sex scenes. Also why I put romance and/or sex. For girls it's either romance, sex, or romance & sex. Don't think just because you don't watch it for the sex scenes and you're a girl that you speak for all girls.

Don't get me wrong please, I'm speaking for the majority, not "all" girls, Because usually girls watch it for the romance, and I saw in an interview of a big japanese Yaoi artist explaining why they added the sex scenes, You can concider it just a decoration, hence why yaoi with sex scenes are rare even in japan, there has been complaints from the fans about the sex scenes, they want em removed from the yaoi universe.

@lilwhimpy You're speaking for the majority? Or the majority you know? Are you from Japan? How old was the interview? Pretty much every yaoi anime has at least 1 sex scene. Now yaoi not so much the only sex scene is usually uke rape. @QA You sure you're not talking about shonen-ai?

lol guess we've gotten very different experiences. Most yaoi anime series I've seen has at least 1 sex scene. Most yaoi manga has 1 sex scene though it's usually the seme raping the uke. o.O

No, I'm speaking for the majority, because the ones I know are easily grossed out by the sex scenes, hence why you find em just pairing up 2 random Straight anime males, I'm not from japan, I went there once with my cousin, he had some buisness there so I went with him, And I watched the interview like almost a year ago, And yes if Yaoi had any sex scenes then it's rape, which makes it worse, haha, but everyone got their preferences, so yeah ;p

Yeah probably, tough I recall reading a manga with a sex scene, they didn't show the parts though, for obvious reasons, if you know what I mean lol, I guess people just don't like the idea of a guy sucking on another guy's thing haha, And by the way, yea I noticed most of the yaoi sex scenes are rape, I watched this one shounen maid something, at first I tought it's a girl/futa, but then it turns out he's a guy, he really went through hell though lol

Lol I'm not saying I know the majority of fujoshis, but it's obvious now isn't it, and I said the "ones I know" are grossed out by the sex scenes, because some skip them, and some watch them for whatever reasons, and lolwhut? yaoi with consensual sex? that's something new, but then again, you never know what weird sh*t japan's gonna make, anyways, I know for a fact that The majority of Yaoi doesn't contain sex scenes, and the ones that do are not graphic, otherwise why would I even watch it lol

Yep those ukes go through some tough stuff. I guess it's what people define as a sex scenes to me just because it's rape or isn't explicit doesn't mean it's not a sex scene.

I don't think its a guy or girl thing at all. It depends on personality like masculine or feminine. If your a masculine personality you like the aggressiveness and sexuality of the girls in a Yuri. If your more of a feminine you appreciate the romance and softness of a Yaoi. I don't mean to put it that black and white but thats what i think

Guys watch yuri for the sex, which is why most Yuri is considered hentai, a lot of sex scenes.

Girls watch yaoi for the story and romance,Hence why you rarely find sex scenes in yaoi and they're all not graphic/censored.

There is yuri as twice as much than Yaoi, the reason you couldn't find that much is because you don't search enough and like you said You're into Yaoi, Besides, Yuri is "premium" Most yuri animes Are pay2watch While yaoi is easy found on the net, And about lesbian hentai, Lol I'd safely say there is lesbian hentai more than normal hentai.

Dude lupian, are you high? Do you realize how much yuri there is? Also we're not talking here about Lesbian sex, we're talking about Yuri/Yaoi, and both of them barely have anything beyond kissing, especially yaoi, but recently Yuri is starting to get more Hentai-ish, Japanese boys prefer the sex scenes, so the creators now are focusing more on the sex scenes than the story on yuri, and yes People do Yaoi/yuri bad, annoying w/e.

Like I said, yaoi's not that good, and Lesbian hentai is all over the net, and I'm not talking about doujinshi, because there's loads of lesbian hentai doujinshi, I'm talking about OFFICIAL, mainstream hentai, from what I can tell you're not into hentai, I'm into it and I actually do some research, otherwise I wouldn't be here correcting you, But trust me, I can assure you, 60% of hentai has at least 2-4 Girl on girl sex scenes, and some of them are not on the internet, because of japan law and sh*t
