Why do they even make pads without wings?

I don't understand why they make them or what would make someone want to use them over wing pads.

Some girls prefer it I suppose. Keep in mind every girl has a different flow, some heavy & some light. If it's too light they can't use tampons so they turn to pads and sometimes wings are unnecessary.

I happen to prefer wings though. Always FTW

Even on my light days I like ultra thin with wings. Wings just seem safer. When I was younger my mom used to always get me pads without wings and I would leak all the time. Even when the flow wasn't that heavy.

Good question! I personally hate pads because I don't like feeling like I have a diaper on! I used to always wear them but now I never do. I'd never wear one without wings though because that is what helps keep them secure!

Well I understand it's because people have preferences, but I really get disappointed when I accidentally buy them without wings. Same with accidentally buying scented tampons!
