Why does he moan while kissing?

I've made out with this guy a few times, and I've noticed that when we first start kissing he kinds of moans. It kind of sounds like an "mmmm" sort of sound. why does he do this? Does he think it'll turn me on or is it involuntary?

I'd assume that its involuntary and he's turned on. He might be doing it because he thinks it'll turn you on, but that seems silly to him. He'd probably tell you why he's doing it if you asked him.
