Why does my period smell so bad?

girls does yours smell too? have you tried any of the drugstore feminine washes?

Basically, it sort of "mimics" the "smell" of death, because when you think about it, every 28-30 days the woman sheds the eggs that she developed over that month as well as the uterine wall lining that those eggs will 'bund' to IF they become fertilized. Once that "cleansing" is discharged through the vagina over the course of five days or so, the "circle of life" begins again as the uterus grows a NEW lining and the ovaries produce NEW eggs to be fertilized by sperm through intercourse or artificial insemination...

Wash as normal and if it still smells real bad then go to thr female gyno doc. Could be an infection

There's special products you can use to wash down there but vagines clean themselves and periods are actually cleansing as well because its releasing bacteria from inside the reproductive system, so its really not even necessary to use a special product to clean down there. Using a body wash or anything else will likely cause an infection. If your discharge is not white or if its smelly down there it may be an infection. Its not supposed to smell bad.

I've never noticed a strong odor to mine, in fact Aunt Flo is visiting this week. I normally keep the outside very clean when changing tampons, I use a baby wipe to get any ickies off of my vulva and that's it. Being bare down there helps me keep things cleaner.

How come there are so many guy experts on periods? Are you like Doctors or something? = ]

Do not EVER douche unless your doctor specifically tells you to. You'll give your self a yeast infection at best or bacterial vaginosis at worst. Go to your gynecologist and ask them about the smell if it really worries you.

My gynecologist told me to not use feminine washes. Your vagina cleans itself, so it is not necessary. Only use feminine wiles before, during, or after a period. Otherwise you shouldn't use those products
