Why is a guy's virginity worthless?

I've been wondering this for some time. Why is a guys virginity is seen as worthless?

Its not worthless. I think a boy's virginity, is kind of beautiful and special.

We just live in a really sexist society, where boys can't be "pretty" or "special", in that way, and that extends to virginity for some reason.

Although, if you really must know...

If you're a gay boy, and you're young, there are LOTS of older guys, that would put you on a pedestal for your virginity.

Some girls will too, like me, but they're few and far between for some reason.

So yeah, I think boys are beautiful and special too... and their virginity SHOULD matter.

(Just like they should allowed to be pretty, wear dresses, make up - whatever they want.)

I couldn't give two s.hits less about virginity. It means absolutely nothing to me, except the obvious, that you haven't had sex before. Which I have no problem with. I've been with a couple virgins before, and I don't view them any differently than non-virgins. I don't judge a person's value based upon what I know/have heard of their sexual history, or lack of.

Personally I don't think it is worthless...but I think it'll stop being seen as worthless when it stops being OK for a guy to have sex with every girl in the room. Not sure how long that will take =/

what you just said doesn't really make sense. a girl may have sex with her boyfriend and why wouldn't she hate it if she found out he was sleeping around? it's not like she wants him to. and I think guys' virginity has the perception of not meaning as much because a lot of guys treat sex so carelessly...sleeping with as many as possible rather than someone they are in love with or whatever.

and I'm not saying that all guys are like this and I'm definitely not saying a guy's virginity is worthless. if you've met girls who think YOU are worthless because you are a virgin, they're just nasty people and probably not a girl anyone would want to have a relationship with.

Because we're not special snowflakes. We're people, ordinary, faceless, here to get sh*t done. The world doesn't revolve around us. Girls are special little princesses. They're brought up with a different line of thinking. It's a big deal when anything happens with them. Marriage, virginity, getting knocked up. There's usually a huge social event centered on them. Or it's a "big deal" and we should all care so much. Compare any life event... .always a bigger production for the girl. Except a bar mitzvah. But I'm not jewish.

I remember going to my cousin's baby shower. Her husband was there, cool guy, just drinking a beer. Meanwhile she had a circle of girls around her all showering her with gifts and attention. And just look at weddings. The dude gets his tux, gets up there says some stuff. Meanwhile the girl is a major production. Huge dress. Girls fawning over her. Huge production. Bridezillas. Everyone has 2 types of virginity: emotional and physical. The emotional virginity is the one that everyone can lose just once and never get it back. Once you have sex, you're a different person, sexually speaking. The physical virginity is different. A male is no different physically after he loses his virginity. Needless to say, it's not so for a female. Once a female has sex, her body won't be the same anymore, regardless if she had a hymen before or not.

But people now days pick and choose as it suits them same goes for what the colours of the wedding dress represent. Sadly your answer does help in anyway to explain why a guys virginity worthless.

well I guess part of it is that physically you never had a vriginity. But I think the bigger pont is that a woman virginity is widles associated with innocence and purity, which for some reasn seems to be really appealing for guys. It's just not for girls, we don't want you to be innocent, we want you to be strong and know what to do, most women expect guys to take the lead in the bedroom. Personnally I'm indifferent to wether a guy is a vrigin or not, if he was OK, if he wasn't OK too

and speaking of immoral, keep in mind that having sex out of marriage is also considered immoral, so is cheating on your partner but these are all seen as normal these day's even if they are immoral.

cheating on your partner is wrong, I don't think anyone disagrees with that. Sex before marriage is controversial but I would say most people do not consider it immoral. Also what do you mean with I only care if it suits me.There's a significant difference between not caring if a guy is a virigin (which includes the possibilty that he is, and everything is just fine)and not and not wanting a guy to go to a prostitue. Actually I don't see any connection at all

well we also want him to have morals, I didn't mention it because it didn't seem important in the context. Sure, we want a guy to appear confident but that's not all we want from him. Yor jumping to wrong conclusions there, being good in bed is not 'the very thing we want from guys'. Its one thing but certainley not the most important. Most men do take lead in the bedroom after while even if they were virgins I also said it was alright if he was a virgin, I just don't particualry care if he isnt.
