Why is my period late? no chance of pregnancy.

i was a week late as of Thursday. I didn't notice at first because I didn't use a pill pack after my last period; I needed an appointment with my doctor first. I have been on the pill for ~13yrs consistently. the only other time I didn't take it for a month(I was away for a week and forgot to pack them) my period was EARLY. at first I thought I was off a week, but then I checked the calender. nope I'm late. and I have my annual appt Monday, which I will have to reschedule if I'm on my period. so I'm kinda freaked. I haven't had sex since October so I'm not pregnant.

Time for a serious answer now. Are you stressed? Stress or anxiety throw your body out of whack and that includes your period. That has happened to me before and once I controlled the stress, my period came. I think if you worry about it, that won't help. Also, maybe your hormone levels are off because of the pill/going off the pill. I can't be sure though, since I've never been on the pill myself.

thank you for taking this seriously. no I'm not stressed I'm pretty chill usually. the only change is in my sleeping habits, but it was that way last month too. I doubt it has to do with not taking the pill, but I'm not sure.

The length of your cycle can vary occasionally as well, it's not always 28 days. Sometimes it's shorter or way longer. That's probably what a doctor would say as well, for now. They usually don't test for problems until you've completely missed 3 periods and are not pregnant. But you haven't missed this one yet, I say it's probably just a long cycle.
