Women like being objectified?

why do women say they don't like to be objectified but then dance to songs that are about objectifying a girl, calling them hoes and bitches and treating them like meat

  • if you dance to a song talking about having a lot of money and cars does that make you rich? its just music. music that objectifies women is so entrenched in popular culture that its normalized to us and we don't even think about it. that doesn't mean that I want to be objected by every single man in the world just because I've danced to that type of musc get real. you just sound angry and frustrated with women in general

  • simply for the sake of dancing. its just how things are nowadays. especially music. just because a girl dances o a song it doesn't mean its necessarily her favorite song, it doesn't mean that she believes in every word. sometimes a girl just wants to dance plain and simple. call it stupid, whatever. at the end of the day its just being human. damn people love to over analyse everything huh

  • cause there is nothing else with a good beat that is played on radio/at clubs etc

  • Yeah I don't do that.

  • Just for entertainment is all. I wish the music wasn't as objectifying, but until men stop ruling the world, women will forever be objectified.

I will dance and stuff to the songs, just because it's fun or whatev, but I definitely am not a fan of how women are portrayed in the lyrics / videos.

But what can you do? Sue the music artist / producers for using freedom of speech? LOL

    So yea...

    • or maybe don't dance to the music? wow girls are stupid

    • Oh shut the hell up. That was dumb as hell for you to say - it's just f***ing music; yea it says some f***ed up sh*t about women, but I know I'm not a whore / slut / bitch or whatever, so I can give two f***s honestly. I just said I don't like that it does portray women in that sense, but there ain't sh*t anyone can do about it. Me not dancing to it ain't gonna stop it from objectifying women. God your so f***in ignorant...

    • there is something you can do stop dancing to it in clubs, the demand decreases and DJs play those songs less and less

  • idk, I guess they pay more attention to the beat of the song, or they listen to it because others listen to it. I don't listen to any songs like these, so I am different.

  • Why do men insist on creating lyrics which objectify women? Perhaps you should work on answering that question first.

    • because women like dancing to them and women allow them to get away with it

    • Exactly - because men objectify women. They've been doing it for years, why not with music? Funny how men try to blame it on women because we deal with being objectified (like we have a choice anyway lol) instead of focusing on the source itself. Which is the men lol But whatev - just by a guy asking this question, obviously shows who's not thinking in this situation lol

    • i think SOCIETY as a whole lets 'them' get away with it. if you want women to be respected and treated well, take a stand- don't just point the finger at women.

  • It's literally just music.
