why do women say they don't like to be objectified but then dance to songs that are about objectifying a girl, calling them hoes and bitches and treating them like meat

if you dance to a song talking about having a lot of money and cars does that make you rich? its just music. music that objectifies women is so entrenched in popular culture that its normalized to us and we don't even think about it. that doesn't mean that I want to be objected by every single man in the world just because I've danced to that type of musc get real. you just sound angry and frustrated with women in general

simply for the sake of dancing. its just how things are nowadays. especially music. just because a girl dances o a song it doesn't mean its necessarily her favorite song, it doesn't mean that she believes in every word. sometimes a girl just wants to dance plain and simple. call it stupid, whatever. at the end of the day its just being human. damn people love to over analyse everything huh

  lol, look, you don't know my mother. She's lucky that I don't completely resent her for the way she raised us. She's selfish, manipulative, and mentally abusive, whether she meant to be or not. If someone told me my mom was dumb, I wouldn't do anything because they'd be right. If they continued to push the matter than we might have a problem.

  I would be lying if I said I didn't hold some resentment toward you're gender. Whether it came from my upbringing or not, who knows? All I know is that what the QA was saying seemed to fit perfectly into the seemingly universal female characteristic (from my experience) of saying you want one thing, then shamelessly doing another thing.

  I see what your saying, as I've noticed the same thing. But as a female living in a world dominated by men, we are faced with such hypocritical standards. Sure we don't want to be objectified in music, but we want to feel sexy and be appealing; men like to watch women dance sexy and that's what this music is for. Yet we're ridiculed for it because other men attack us and say what we do is wrong, because we're not really standing up for what we believe. But what the hell's a girl to do?

  Men want a women who's good in bed, but they want virgins too. A women should look sexy all the time, but then she's shallow / barbie doll. Just for entertainment is all. I wish the music wasn't as objectifying, but until men stop ruling the world, women will forever be objectified.

I will dance and stuff to the songs, just because it's fun or whatev, but I definitely am not a fan of how women are portrayed in the lyrics / videos.

But what can you do? Sue the music artist / producers for using freedom of speech? LOL

  A lot of the composers of the more dirtier songs are men - but I mean, you have to look at why that music makes is so popular; because sex sells - plain and simple. And music is a business so it all boils down to what makes the most money. In our society, women are constantly sexed up / objectified by many aspects, for the male's to enjoy and get money coming in. Women and sex sale easily for men, so that gets the cash rolling in

  So it makes sense to produce these songs for the musician to make the music. This music resides mainly in hip - hop / rap, and the logic associated with that puts much emphasis on sex and money. So naturally, you get the vast production of these racy songs. And with hip hop having it's legacy for making danceable beats and what not, of course the music will appeal to all audiences - no matter the gender.

  Women dance to it, for the same reason men do. Because they like that sample of music. Most people just ignore the lyrics anyway; a song with sh*tty lyrics and a really tight beat can become quite popular. A song with amazing lyrics but a sh*tty beat - not the same deal. So the musicians who do songs of that nature get away with it.
