Actually, I don't think love can be "made". Either it is there, or not.
As far as sexual intercourse is concerned, for those who have a "heart", I would say it is an extension of love through physical actions.
Then there are those who don't have a "heart" (we all have seen people like that, from players to cruel, cold-blooded murderers to psychopaths. Being extremely generous, we usually still refer them as human beings, i.e. at least biologically). Despite not having a "heart", they still can functional sexually, just like many other animals.
That's what I would use term "f**king" when these people have sexual relationships. This is the same kind who USE prostitutes, treating (and dehumanizing) them as a "urinal". These are the same kind of people who have sexual intercourse with chimpanzees/horse/dogs/...whatnot. To them, it doesn't matter. That's what you call lust.
Meaning, obviously some people can separate love and sex (making them good prostitutes and gigolos), while some can't (they won't make good prostitutes and gigolos)

Some cultures train/brainwash their males to regard aggression, violence, ..cowboy style is "manly", and "manly" is good. This kind of selfish masculine energy not only harm others, but also everything in nature (just look at the state Earth is in), and is ultimately self-destructive. Rough vs Soft, which is good? I think making love is way better than f***ing. When we make love, we take our time, do different things, experiment and find other ways to pleasure each other. When it is quick, it can feel good for a few minutes and the intensity is nice, but the passion and sensuality of a smooth rhythm is missing.
I try and make sure every other week or so we have time "blocked" on a day when there is nothing else going on to just spend time doing whatever we want to each other. We can relax, she can get comfortable, etc... It's days like that when we can build up an orgasm that leaves her quivering and mumbling because it was so intense.
Both are fun, but in the end I prefer slow and steady to hard and fast.
