This myTake is inspired by National Coming Out Day so I found the types of bisexualities that have been explained by J.R. Little.
People view anyone between 1 to 5 on the Kinsey scale as a bisexual
Alternating Bisexual: Their one relationship might be exclusively straight, the next exclusively gay and vice versa. It's like a pattern.
Circumstantial Bisexual: Is strictly heterosexual or homosexual but can be bisexual under certain circumstances. For example, the excuse is "there are no women/men around."
Concurrent relationship Bisexual: Has a primary relationship with one gender, but may also have one or more casual relationships with partners of the other gender.
Conditional Bisexual: A heterosexual or homosexual who would switch their dominant sexuality for a specific purpose such as personal gain or acceptance. For example, gay/straight for pay, gay/straight for a pack of cigarettes, gay/straight for protection or etc. You know, a buy-sexual.
Emotional Bisexual: Has had intimate emotional relationships with both genders but only has sex with one gender. Is basically a bi-romantic who is either homosexual or heterosexual.
Integrated Bisexual: Has two or more concurrent primary relationships with a man and another with a woman.
Exploratory Bisexual: Is bicurious and questioning.
Hedonistic Bisexual: Is primarily straight or gay/lesbian but will switch strictly for sexual pleasure.
Recreational Bisexual: This person is only bi when they drunk or high or they just wanna have a good time. They exhibit bisexual behavior for entertainment purposes. For example, when "straight" girls kiss at parties or when drunk "straight" guys flirt with other guys.
Isolated Bisexual: This person currently identifies as straight or homo, but has had one or more sexual encounters with the less preferred sex in the past.
Latent Bisexual: Is predominantly gay or straight but has a strong desire for sex with the other gender but has never acted on it.
Motivational Bisexual: Will turn bisexual when motivated. For example, if a person will go bi to satisfy a partner in threesomes.
Transitional Bisexual: Is currently going through a bi phase. They may be bi for now but later in the future they are either gay or straight.
If any of this applies to you, you may not be 100% straight 😉
