5 Myths About Porn

Due to my age and hence the G@G censorship for minors, I'm trying to be least sexual as I can be hence this take is not focused on sexual parts of porn. But irrespective of that, There are many myths about people believe in. Here are some of them:

1) BDSM Involves a Contract Agreement:

5 Myths about porn

BDSM sometimes involves play contracts. These are not legal documents whatsoever. The contracts in the introduction of BDSM videos are part of the fantasy. Fantasy is that there is a “binding” document entitling one partner to the other’s body/mind/soul. Although they're used to keep track of preferences of the partner.

2) "Breaking point" of girls

5 Myths About Porn

(Img: Kounachi Broken Princess) This one is common among hentai watchers. It says that "If you force penetration on a woman, she'll resist it for some time ( like an hour) and then after reaching that breaking point, she'll turn into a pure slut which can do anything to get penetrated. This is a MYTH. You can't force someone for your sexual desires. It is rape. Also, breaking point doesn't exist. It is going to be painful if forced. It is just part of the fantasy.

3) Its okay to have unprotected sex

5 Myths About Porn

Unprotected sex is NOT okay. In porn, they do that just to make it look more real. Of course, those pornstars use birth control pills but pills can't prevent you from STDs. Always practice safe sex.

4) Porn Ruins Relationships

5 Myths About Porn

Yes, porn addiction can be harmful to the relationship. But in a controlled manner or watching it together can benefit your relationship.

Talking about porn may actually help couples to be more honest and accepting of one another, and get to the bottom of some other issues.

Porn can become ‘the path of least resistance,’ when couples aren’t getting along. (Dr Ari Tuckman)

5) Women Don't Watch Porn

5 Myths About Porn

This one is very very common among men. Women do watch porn as much as men do. There are hundreds of questions on G@G about this one! Well, women of G@G can confirm this one in comment section :)

  • I've seen porn save relationships... a guy or girl can just jack off instead of cheat... even get ideas from porn.

  • kick ass article bro!

but I would like to add a #6 and that is "size matters." very few people know that real reason why you're required to be at least 8" long and that is because your penis must look big on camera.

    • You forgot one thing: in porn girls don't get orgasms. They fake them.

  • I love porn.

  • i just wanna add something to your BDSM part. there is no contract (except in that stupid shades of grey movie) however there is always outspoken consent and safe words in case a "stop" or "no" can't be used for the expression of dissent in a given situation or role play.

  • are you sure breaking point is a myth?
1 hour is to short to break someone i think.

  • Good article! I knew number 4 was false. :)
But number 5 is surprising to me.

  • Already knew, thanks

  • Ok, I don't really like the term "pornography" when it comes to lumping together every single sexual video ever made. There are some incredibly photographed videos of sex that are beautiful in my eyes, and not at all denigrating, foul, sick or disgusting in any way. Yet, they are called "porn" the same way a man being cock tortured, or a woman abused, or all kinds of stuff is called porn. I just don't find "lovemaking" to be porn. Anyway, I must agree with amel23, who said "Hentai is pretty fucked up". It's one thing to watch real people having sex, but to watch an animated cartoon character and get off on it is pretty fucked up! And I've done some fucked up stuff, but not that! And #4 is bullshit unless you give up on your partner. People give up on their partners for a lot more reasons than just sex, and that's what ruins relationships.

  • I don't watch porn. I don't have myths about it either

    • Wtf...

    • What?

    • you are doing the right thing bro

  • BDSM contracts have next to nothing to do with porn. No one cares if paid actors have a BDSM contract. It's all fantasy.

  • The industry is largely very serious about STDs and their.. cough.. personell.. is regularly monitored for whatever nastiness they may have contracted.

  • All correct exept the last point. You are mistaken if you think women watch as much porn as men.
    They dont.
How often have you met a gut who has never watched porn?

How often have you met a girl that hasn't watched porn?
I have talked with not too many women, but surprisingly a lot of them dont watch porn. Another bunch have watched it , but dont watch it now or rarely do.

I habe only met like 1 out of 100 men who didn't watch porn.
The ratio is different. Also, women's sexual drive is different.
Women are said to be most horny when ovulating and it fluctuates troughout the month and even the day.
So i take it girls that watch porn watch it during the periods that they are horny.

    Guys are always horny.
And not all guys are as horny all the time as girls are when they are at their peak, but guys do have a decent sex drive, depending on their testisterone levels and arousal triggers, troughout the day, every day. So it makes sense that guys are the majority porn consumers and why most straight porn is directed for guys.

    • I disagree us women watch quite a bit of porn as well. We just prefer to keep it to ourselves. I for one usually use it a few times a week.

    • @Poulsrac yeah but, if you have a lot of female friends, im certain you know a few that dont watch it. And maybe you may even know a few that never watched it. I dont know ANY guy that hasn't watched porn. And out of all the guys i know , only a handful dont watch porn as a habit. The ratio is definitely tilted. Also , some porn sites have done survey. The male to female ratio is different with women being around 30% viewers and men 70 (i think acc. To pornhub)

    • I'm pretty sure that they just don't tell you. As soon as they get drunk, every one admits to watch porn. xD And I do know a guy who doesn't watch porn at all (he told me that his own fantasy is quite enough) ... On the other hand, not a single girl I know of. You seem to forget that the "I'm a man, I'm looking for women" are the standard settings on most porn sites. I bet that not a lot of girls do waste their time with changing them.
