6 Reasons Why Masturbation Is Better Than Partnered Sex
Anonymous
1. No Spread of STDs/STIs
Masturbation involves no STD/STI transmission. How can there be? A transmission REQUIRES two or more people. Although it is possible for a pathogen in one location of the body to be "transmitted" to another, that is not called or recognized as an "STD transmission". And if you are a virgin, then you can masturbate all you want without any worries about contracting STDs!
2. No Chance of Pregnancy In Any Way
You need a person with a fully functional male reproductive system and a person with a fully functional female reproductive system to make a baby. It is impossible to self-fertilize. Humans are born as male or as female, not male AND female. Humans are not hermaphroditic (though, that would be kind of cool). Intersex people are not hermaphrodites, because to be a hermaphrodite, you need functional male and female reproductive organs.
3. You Know Yourself
You know yourself. You know what your body likes and dislikes. You know what pleasures you and what hurts you. You know when to stop, when to move forward, what to do next, etc. These feelings are locked inside your brain, and only you have the key to access them.
4. No Hurt Feelings
You know yourself well enough that you will not hurt yourself. No one is hurt during masturbation. No regrets either.
5. No Need To Ask For Consent; You Just Do It
Before, during, and after partnered sex, you have to communicate to your partner. Failure of communication or misinterpretation of behaviors or words can get you in trouble by the law. If you are masturbating, then you have no one but yourself to ask, and asking yourself whether you want to touch here or there sounds a bit silly. You either do it or don't. Don't overthink this. Masturbation is not rocket science.
6. Best Way To Relieve Sexual Urges
Masturbation is the safest form of experiencing sexual pleasure. No physical, emotional, or spiritual harm will come afterwards, because no one except you knows what you're doing in your bedroom under the bed covers. You receive the pleasures of sex (orgasm) without the drama or the hassle of dealing with STDs/STIs, pregnancies, regrets, or spiritual death.

1. Avoiding sex to avoid STD's is like choosing to sit on the floor instead of your furniture because you are scared of messing them up/spilling something on them.
Sure, no one wants STD's but there are various ways to practice safer sex along with the ability to have both you and your partner checked out.
2. Well, considering continuing the human race is a major point to our existence, let's not paint pregnancy into a purely negative light. Sure, not everyone wants children or aren't ready for them yet, but again there are many methods of preventing pregnancy at a very high level. Thus, the act that is actually capable of giving you children if you so choose is clearly superior to the one that can't.
3. An important aspect of life is creating social and emotional bonds with other people. Knowing yourself isn't really a selling point. It's like arguing to always stay home because other people might have judgments, reactions and expectations.
4. In civilizations rife with religion, even masturbation leads to regret. This really isn't a selling point. Never going up to bat because you fear striking out means you will also never hit a homerun. Thankfully the human race takes risks to get anywhere in life and chancing 'hurting others feelings' when it comes to sex and relationships is a small price to pay for the potential of love and affection from another human being.
5. This sounds like silly feminist bullshit. You need to communicate AFTER partnered sex? I'm pretty sure you can roll over and fall asleep as many men have done throughout history if they so choose without ruining anything. You are presenting sex in an overcomplicated way. Either two people want to do it or they don't. Proceed from there.
6. There is absolutely nothing wrong with masturbation, but it is still merely a substitution for sex. People shape large portions of their free time in pursuit of sex. It influences what people look like and how they dress and how they act. It's a major influence in men in particular to be successful in life, so that they have access to a much larger and more desirable pool of women.
Given the opportunity, the vast majority of people in the world will overwhelmingly choose sex over masturbation.
Simply put: Partnered sex is better than masturbation.

Masturbating has it's perks but I don't agree with it being better than "good" sex. Masturbating will always be better than "bad" sex though since that's how it usually ends for at least one party involved. But since I can't lick my own clit or suck my own nipples, I'd prefer to have a partner.

Masturbation is a tool for self satisfaction of sexual pleasure when it is not possible to have with your partner. Nature has designed sex enjoyable and pleasant to produce babies so that life is everlasting on Earth. This is only possible with penetrative sex between man and woman (Test-tube babies or A I is a different story). If you are hungry and food of your choice is not available or within rich, you compromise with something available. Masturbation is just like it, - If you have strong urge for sex and it is not possible with your partner - you can satisfy yourself with it - it is not as enjoyable as real. Real thing is real and all other solutions are imitations, it can not replace or compete the real thing.

@19magic Strangling yourself while you masturbate, many people have died doing this.
I finally understand the whole choking thing while having sex, I just assumed it's part of bdsm and the male alpha.

Reasons why it's easier and less hassle than sex, not why it's better. It isn't better at all.

Learning about the other sex is of tantamount importance in your early adult years. That includes relationships and that includes sex. If you limit yourself to masturbation and never learn how to interact with the opposite sex and the differences between the sexes and the differences between individuals within any given sex, you are stifling the maturation process

#4 my feelings are definitely hurt when I get too bored with masturbation to actually reach an orgasm. :'(

Very true, you don't get any of the harmful downsides of sex, especially those associated with anonymous hookups, one night stands, friends w/benefits, etc. (although the pic for #4 kinda looks like someone feeling guilt after masturbating or being caught doing it, lol). The flip side of this is not getting any of the benefits of loving, monogamous sex either.
It's just weird how sex outside of intimate relationships is seen as "normal", whereas masturbation has such a bad reputation that no one wants to publicly admit to it.

The benefits of monogamous sex are hardly worth it, its boring as fuck being with the same person and requires too much work. You are constantly trying to spice things up because you both hit your comfort boundaries, then she cheats on you and you have to start over like a zombie.

I would prefer partnered sex to masturbation. I like mutual masturbation too. It would be better if my women would tell me how she wants to be pleasured, but she does not answer the question. I have always had a high sex drive and my woman has to be encouraged for once a week. I still masturbate daily and have learned from watching women to go slow and enjoy it. It has kept me from straying.

Why have friends when you can talk to yourself? Why go out for dinner when you can sit and home and eat mayonnaise sandwiches? Why live at all when you can just sit in your bachelor apartment and stare at the walls.

Yeah.. No thanks.. If I had the money to see a few escorts a week for the rest of my life I'd probably never masturbate again.

masturbation is good and fun, and relieves sexual urges and stress.. but its no alternative to sex.
