More info is needed to answer this honestly. Did you discuss it with him and was he willing to work on it with you? (if not, and many women don't, you should have done that because everyone is different, especially women lol, so you have to let him know what you like and don't like sexually. And/or depending on his age and experience, needs to learn also, just like YOU have to learn what he likes and doesn't like, "good/great sex" doesn't just happen usually, it BECOMES that way as you get to know each other, but that requires communication, which is often lacking). But... if you tried that and he was unwilling to listen/learn (ie selfish), then that's a different thing and then yes you absolutely did the right thing because it'll be a huge issue in the relationship, and probably end it regardless eventually.

It's not bad if he was unwilling to learn it's only bad if you expect him to automatically know everything first try but then those guys are more likely to give you an incurable disease
If you don't want sex with someone that's more like a brother than a boyfriend so it's a good idea to let them loose and find somebody more compatible
