I don't mean to sound like a jerk but the thought of your being crazy, (had) crossed my mind. Try not to take too personally, as I know we're all hampered by the amount/sort of information we can provide, about why it is we're asking the things we ask but..
In this case though, it's the information ya (did) provide, that's giving me pause. Having only read the question, my innitial thoughts were that it was cute and whatnot. Cause I (didn't) click on it, as a means to insult you or anything... I promise.
After having read the details I was left with questions I didn't have going in, though. Like.. why ya's ain't slept together yet?
At first, I thought maybe he went to jail and the scent reminded ya of em. Course it didn't (have) to be "jail", lol.. was just the first thing that came to mind, about why he may have left the jacket behind. Coupled with wondering where he could have gone, for an extended period of time, that you couldn't... in order for you to miss him, as much as ya do. Which is why "vacation".. wasn't my first guess.
If that actually is the case and as long as he wasn't locked up for murder or something along those lines... then you're not "crazy" for it but it's a bit strange. If he actually did get locked up for murder or something else in the "pretty fuckin awful" category, then ya may wanna consider burning that jacket. As his leaving it behind, may not have been just a harmless oversight, afterall. And you most certainly (would) be crazy, for getting your DNA all over it.
The fact that you two went out 6x prior and still haven't slept together though, makes me think it can't be anything other then him ghosting ya. I dont know where it is he went but if it (wasn't) jail and he STILL won't even come back for his jacket... throw the thing away, chic. Cause the fact you haven't already, was another reason for those thoughts having crossed my mind... just sayin.

My girlfriends over the years have ALWAYS stolen my T-shirts and jackets, and at least some of them have done it for the same reason, so it's not that unusual.
My best friend does this with her boyfriend's hoodie. They are in an ldr. It's not crazy but sweet and shows that you want to feel his presence and misses him
