Am I too old to wear a bikini?

My body is still is good shape. I enjoy wearing bikinis sometimes rather than one piece. A friend says that a lot of women stop wearing bikinis after 40. I am early 40s. I have been told that I look more like I am in my 30s or younger. Flattery, maybe? How old a person looks is a matter of perception. I have worked on my body and believe me I have the body to wear one. Am I too old to wear a bikini or not? Would a tankini be better or a one piece? In other words, will people talk about me being to old to wear one? My boyfriend says yes.

Really what an air head your boyfriend must be. If you have the body and looks... hell ya wear a bikini, you didn't work hard so you can hide away, and 40 is isn't to old and if you look younger than what your age is... own it girl!! I wear a bikini myself and I am 45 and I look younger than what my age is right now. It's always the way you carry yourself that makes a difference when wearing a bikini when getting older, if you have the body yes, if not then wear something that looks sexie and comfortable and still look nice and not trashy looking.

Absolutely, then... If you're still in great shape at 41, then you earned the right to wear one.

I wouldn't put much stock in what other people say, especially other women, they can be catty as hell and are just saying it because they couldn't fit into/wear one.

I am uncertain though as to whether your boyfriend is supporting you in your decision to wear one or not? The way it's worded, could go either way...

If you have the body for it then there's no reason to believe that you can't rock a bikini, it's just clothing and age shouldn't really put a stop to wearing stuff if you have the courage to wear it but judgment unfortunately is part of the world and it will always be a thing.

Rock a bikini when you feel like it's the right circumstance! There's plenty of different styles of bikini that give you options to figure out what fits your body type best.

I say you should wear anything you’re comfortable with as long as it doesn’t affect other people (meaning doing something illegal or otherwise).

I'd say go for it. My opinion is that the decision about wearing a bikini or not shouldn't be tied to age that much, but to shape. So if you're beach body ready, all the more reason to wear it.
