An Honest Look at Whether or Not a Person Should Pay For Sex

This myTake is a response to 5 Unarguable Reasons Why Prostitutes are A Good Option for the Average Guy

@goldfinch23 @NoFcks2Give

Let me begin by saying I believe prostitution should be legal since I believe in the right to private property.

The person's body is their private property and they may do with it as they please so long as no one is hurt as a result of the person's actions.

I also believe that the government's view of the economy should be summed up as follows:

If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving subsidize it.

This is a paraphrased quote by Reagan which I doubt he would approve the use of.

As the world's oldest profession it only makes sense to legalize it and regulate it, especially since it helps fight human trafficking and ensure prostitutes have regular check ups.

An honest look at whether a person should pay for sex

The case for getting a prostitute boils down to a few basic points.

1. Sex on demand for anyone willing to pay regardless of their looks and personal failings.

2. Getting any kind of sex the person (or people if it's a couple hiring a prostitute) wants.

And Finally

3. A desire for nothing more than sex.

If sex is all the person cares about then I think them getting a prostitute would be best for them and it would prevent hurting the feelings of others that want something more.

However there are several factors to consider before getting a prostitute.

1. The Cost (in money)

Yup you guessed it, sex doesn't come cheap. In the US the cost can range from $200-$600 on average. There are some that will do it for a lot less and a lot of others that will do it for a lot more.

It is something that can become very addicting and costly.

By having a girlfriend a guy saves a lot more money on average since you don't need to spend money on the girl every time and it is highly unlikely that a middle class guy would spend $200+ on a date. $200 will probably be spent on 6 dates if the guy pays for both himself and the girl and knows how to spend effectively.

2. The Risk (STDs/STIs)

Although prostitutes may claim to be free of any STDs there appears to be no regulation set in place on how often they are tested. From what I could find in my research, once a month tends to be the standard but there's no one to oversee that it happens.

The prostitute you could be with may not have been tested in 2-3 months or could have just caught an STD from a previous client.

3. The Cost (in mental health)

This goes back to the number 1 reason people get prostitutes. In most cases it is because they can't get laid. If a person can't get laid by conventional means then this is their only alternative.

The problem with this is that a person can very easily become addicted.

Now let's say money isn't an issue, the problem then becomes that the person is embracing their flaws instead of working on them. The person becomes more closed off and depressed.

Sex to that person will be no different than alcohol for an alcoholic, since this will be that person's way of dealing with stress, depression or any other issue.

4. The Rejection of Love

Perhaps the person is too lazy to work on themselves and wants just sex. Eventually the person will realize that just sex is not enough. They'll notice their friends getting married, having kids and feel like they want that feeling of belonging. Most people whether they know it yet or not deep down want someone to care for them and for someone to care for. That is something you don't get with a friend. Sure you could have some beers with your buddies, play pool, go hunting or do whatever it is you do with your friends but at the end of the day you all go home. It would be nice if there was someone waiting for you at home. Someone that cares about your well being and supports you.

Someone that is there for you when you're sick or hurt for whom you would gladly return the favour.

That person won't always be your mom or dad.

There you have it an honest look at whether people should pay for sex.

I honestly hope it gets legalized but even if it does most of the issues with it still remain.

At the end of the day it's your choice, so choose wisely.

  • it depends. only losers pay for sex. and many men do it who are otherwise married. your take is silly.

    • I disagree that only losers pay for sex. What about sex addicts? What if they're just lazy and don't feel like the bullshit of women in society?

    • @ShyGuyLikesWomen That was covered in the last point.

    • So if a person is incapable of forming a relationship, he's just as well off paying for hookers?

  • Makes sense, it would be more regulated and not have to worry about the embarrassment of getting arrested too

  • only idiots fuck whores

  • A nice take.
Prostitution should be legal, because (mostly guys) pay for sex one way or another.
By paying for sex , then you get sex immediately, when you need it.
    Without all the preliminaries.
It is usually cost effective, as taking out a date can be costly also, without a sex guarantee.
And picking up someone in a bar has more risks of STDs in my opinion.
Prostitution is a straight up transaction without any false expectations, and everyone knows what the deal is.
I have friends that have "steady sex worker encounters", and praise
the efforts of the working girls, without all the usual girlfriend troubles.

  • I'd choose prostitution over tinder hookups. Guys thinking that they're entitled to get free p**** while other guys are willing to pay smh.

  • Does tantric sexual massage count?

What about ensuring you are clean afterward?

  • Let's look at it this way. Would you rather drop 600 bucks and fuck a girl like this:
    or

Would you rather go out on date with a girl who at the end of the night will kiss you on the cheek to go fuck another guy after you've showed her a good time
    cf.girlsaskguys.com/.../...e-8a68-1597b4a9686a.jpg
(50% of women on gag admitted that it was OK to do this)

    • And said girl when she thinks you've thrown enough money on her will then decide to give you sex.

    • Gag making me feel More uncomfortable towards girls

    • The girl in the picture isn't even that hot. Who are the guys that girls are fucking for free at the end of the date?

    • Show All
  • 1. Most girls thank to promiscuity being so high have high partner that it doesn't matter. If you fuck a girl you met at a bar/club she has the same chance of having an STI as a prostitute these days. In addition Prostitutes regular get checked for STI because it's their job. While women in general don't. Your more likely to end up catching a STI from a party girl than you are a prostitute.

In addition grils in relationship with guys who regular have sex on side with other girl transfer STI onto them unknowingly (STI transfers is higher from men to women).

    2. Prostitutes are overall cheaper long term if you want sex. Women in genral control when sex happens and most girls because they don't want to feel like sluts will carry you on several dates that will cost you far more money than 1 session a prostitute will. This doesn't even factor in the time spent going on these dates.

    3. Your third reasoning falls from false stereotype. Reason many people get prostitutes is because they just want to cut the BS and get sex. This is why we even have very attractive actors who can get laid using prostitutes or rich men.

    4. Your 4) options comes from beta mentality into thinking you need family, kids to feel hold. Happiness and love comes from within not who you have by your side. Your reasoning is slow flawed because many men get married, have kids and their girlfriend started off all lovey dovey then turned into a cold, hating, nagging bitch once she got the ring on her finger who will divorce rape and leave him financially ruin (so much for having your back).

    • *Your more likely to end up catching a STI from a girl who is not a prostitute than you are a prostitute.

    • If you want just sex and are willing to risk a higher chance of STIs since these girls have sex with many people per month then go for it. The "BS" you claim exists is the relationship. If you don't want a relationship then don't have one it's your loss. As for "beta mentality", only beta males use the term beta.

    • spoken like a true beta and just lol thinking the average girl in female population doesn't sleep around. Are you one of those guys who buys women's number to be less than 10?

  • Well I always wanted a girlfriend but honestly I'm lying to myself thinking it will happen most girls are creeped out by me

    • Maybe they know deep down they can get paid for it.

    • @ShyGuyLikesWomen what do you mean

    • Why would any girl have sex for free when they know they have the ability to be whores?

  • The thing is, you obviously didn't look at a country where it is legalised, and draw conclusions from that.

For example, in Amsterdam, the incidence of STI and AIDS is lower amongst the prostitutes than in the general population, simply because the average woman doesn't test herself 12 times a year.

There are people who check that the hookers are regulated and have their papers in order. And as a client, you can examine her most recent health check cert. (It's usually displayed above the bed.)

So, do a bit more research before your next take.

    • How often are they checked?

    • The rates of STIs in Netherlands are decreasing for chlamydia but increasing for gonorrhea. All check ups are voluntary.

    • I'd like to see your sources on that. My own experience is that you can't even rent a kamer in the RLD unless your health cert is less than a month old.
