Yes, It's easy.
You're looking online at shemales that are pumped up on female hormones until they look female. They get surgery to improve their boobs and ass. They spend all of their waking moments trying to look like a real female by wearing wigs, false eyelashes, makeup...

Now, go meet one in real life. They're nothing like this. Their voice will be manly, they won't be as feminine or as sexy as you see online and you'll realize that they're physically guys who feel like a female trapped in a male body. Do the shemales that you see online actually exist in real life? Maybe, for short periods of time. Photos capture instances and can be very deceiving. Any really hot looking shemale will be unobtainable to you and they dont look like that forever, they age very very roughly. Many have to cycle off the estrogen and then they start to look more like guys.

LOL my answer would be to go meet one - that should do it. Most of them are far from "passable" and more realistic to looking like middle-aged cross dressers. Go google that, which should kill your boner for traps pretty quickly :P
