I'm talking to you as a sex educator here, as well as someone who has limited experience, so please take this as such. I am not an expert, but I do have some meaningful and important knowledge, with backing from experience and science.

Anal takes a while to work up to. Unlike the vagina, the anus wasn't made to stretch and accommodate penises. Start with toys, you can buy sets of anal trainers for not too expensive ($60 or there abouts) and your partner can use those until they're comfortable, feel good and she's ready for more.

Wear a condom, obviously, it's dirty in there and you don't want to get a UTI. Use a lot of lube. Buy a lube that is water based and is designed with anal in mind. Use it liberally and often. The vagina produces it's own lubricant, and precome is also a kind of lubricant, but the anus does not, and because you'll have a condom on you'll need plenty of lube.

I would recommend she not douche. Your colon is a very delicate little ecosystem and flushing it out like that can lead to troubles with bowel movements, infection, and damage to the colon walls, as well as the removal of the protective coating along the inside of the colon. Make sure she tries to poop before you have sex, but that will be sufficient. It's totally fine to thoroughly clean up the exterior of her anus with baby wipes or soap and water.

Finally, and I cannot emphasize this enough - anal is not easy, it is not quick, you need to be slow, methodical and careful. Tearing can cause deadly infections or even fatal bleeding because the colon is so vascular - do you really want to go to the ER and explain that she has an anal tear because you messed up your first attempt at anal? No. But if that's what happens then that's what you'll need to do.
