Are all men in bars only looking for casual sex?

I've been trying to get into dating recently, and I generally have a preference for meeting guys through mutual friends or activities rather than in bars because I've always assumed that guys in bars just want one-night stands, which I'm not interested in. But I've had friends tell me stories about guys they know who've met their fiancées in bars, and tell me that I should give bars a shot (pun not intended). I'm still skeptical though. Do any guys on here ever go to bars looking for something other than casual sex?

Speaking from my group that I go out with, we have me who is out for the atmosphere as I enjoy night life and don't go out for the possibility of meeting someone or a ons. The others let's just just use letters instead of names: A, is a gentleman, very charming and all round nice guy but he is a full on player (not the fuck boy type, very respectful) B, is charming and confident, really smooth and does look for something more meaningful. C is the guy who usually drinks to much and ends up being taken care off but doesn't mind if it's a ons or something more. D, has slight social anxiety and though can be confident isn't looking for anything less than the one. E has no shame and brushes off rejection like it didn't happen and will move from woman to woman just trying to get laid. Of course any group isn't complete by F who's obliterated but is also not bothered about what he finds. So point being no not everyone is there to get laid and it all comes down to how you both interact and if you both end up being into eachother. I have a friend who met a guy in a night club 12 years later they have 3 kids and are very happy together.

No, just most of them. The others are there to get drunk, or sometimes high, or to escape their home situation (girlfriend/wife).

If you don't already hang out in bars, then you probably aren't the type of girl who'd want to date the kind of guy who hangs out in bars - because he isn't likely to stop hanging out in bars once the two of you get together.

Bars really ARE for people who are looking for casual sex - which is not to say that the occasional relationship doesn't happen, but it's rare and far from the norm.

A smarter person would think about things you ALREADY enjoy that have a social element - whether that's movies, the gym, volunteering at the animal shelter, or whatever it is that you enjoy that would take you outside where other people are - and do THAT, and meet guys THERE. The meeting/initial part might be a bit more work, but THOSE are the guys who are already doing things you're interested in, and are more likely to share your lifestyle already, meaning your compatibility with them is likely to be much higher.

At night the things happen at faster pace then during the day, in very aspects. That's why MAJORITY of people look for one night stand at night and long relationships at day... But it is never a rule. People go to bars to celebrate and escape from their problems, is that what you want for long relationships? Find a group that share the same interests then you and you probably find a good men

That's why a whole lot of the men in bars go there. Bars are poor places to find someone who wants a relationship.

No not at all. We usually go bars to enjoy party nd to refresh. Sex is not the ultimate thing. Apart from this life has too much things to enjoy

Yup. Mostly, I go for the stout. I don't keep beer in my home. I go to the corner pub for it. I also go if there's a game on that I want to see (I don't own a television). Or if I just want to hang around other people. Or I need to kill an hour or two before my next appointment.

I'm a bartender and it definitely goes both ways. Younger men are usually there for the ladies looking for either sex or relationships. Older men are almost always there just to drink and have a good time.

Obviously it all starts with a nice fuck.. after that love happens.. but you can't go to a bar just to see who would become your lover.. they will for sure first try to. fuck you.. it's like going to hyperstar and buy nothing yet complains that why they don't have much stock :p
