Well i believe the virtue of Chastity means that you don't engage in any sexual congress of any kind. but if women use anal as an excuse to validate their chastity while still pleasing themselves and their partners, well more power to them.

@MackFreeze depends on what protestant faith you are like the church of England and Anglican are still very similar to Catholicism. Anglican priests can become Catholic Preists. Methodists, Baptists, Presbyterian, lutherians, Pentecostal, evangelical, Adventists all can be as different from each other as they are from the Catholic church.

I thought many of those dissented from the catholic church during the colonization of America, since Puritans were being prosecuted they came to America to reform Christianity and break away from the Church/State system. I would argue that many Christians hated the Catholic church especially turning the 1600-1800s. Even JFK a Irish Catholic didn't mention his faith because of the resentment towards Catholics in America.

@MackFreeze the puritan and others left England during the time of Elisabeth the first. Basically there was the protestant state approved religion of the church of England and then there was everyone else. The big problem early protestant churches like the puritans had was that they weren't well established and hasn't a unified doctrine which caused members and churches to break way and form other churches. Many Anglo Christians were bigotted against Catholicism in America espicially in the 18th and 19th century with huge waves of catholic immigrants coming from all over Europe and of course anti spainish and Mexican sentiment which existed in Ameria for a long time. When JFK was born the KKK were huge all over America and were still powerful when he was running so of course he tried to keep the Irish Catholic part of his heritage quiet as the KKK hate catholics as much as Jews.

I thought the puritans were quite well since they allowed any religon as they themselves wanted to be free from state est. religon leaving room for various branches. I thought the KKK was a group made post reconstruction period and was directly targeting blacks and later became to hate Jews and Catholics

@MackFreeze the puritans wanted to escape religious persecution. Don't forget heretics were often burned in England during the reign of Henry 8th, Edward VI and Mary 1. Some say the American war of independence was just a continuation of the English Civil war in which puritan leader Oliver Cromwell emerged as Lord protector and king in all but name. The continued branching off of the puritan left them weak politically and easy pre for the church of England. Your right anout the kkk. The kkk were ex confederates and thousands of Irish Catholics fought right off the boat for the union army. The confederate Irish were mostly Presbyterians who hated Catholics espicially Irish Catholics. Nobody got it as bad than African Americans but the kkk hates immigrants who were non white Anglo Saxon or Germanic protestants. The kkk had a huge has been antic catholic and anti semetic for a long time. Americans are very lucky the kkk were never able to get into power like the Nazis
