Are crossdressers gay?

Some very interesting comments. Statistically, crossdressers have no higher incidence of being gay than the general population. The incidence of sexual offences is lower than the general population. What is very interesting is the stark difference between male and female views. Many males seem to be unaware of the facts and are very anti, whereas most ladies don't see a problem. I appreciate all views, thank you

  • Honestly no, because crossdressers are typically just men who like to wear female clothing and can pull it off pretty damn well sometimes. What would be "Gay" is if a guy who was into guys wore female lingerie for the sole purpose of getting fucked by another dude. Another thing that would be gay is a guy wanting to be a "trans female" and alter his appearance entirely to trick straight men into going out with them so that they can live out their gay fantasies of fucking men as a dollar store version of a female.

  • No, I know many guy friends who are into crossdresssing and they have girlfriends and regular life like other guys. Plus, they all look gorgeous when they are in female outfit.

    • Thanks for your comment, it's refreshing

    • Good grief. WTF has happened to this generation...

    • @KrakenAttackin You mean tolerance and letting people live their own lives? You obviously haven't checked my profile and age.

  • They are just clothes. It shouldn’t be a big deal at all and I’m cool with acrossdresser wearing what they want.

however it does look so different, it’s hard not to assume gay.

    • Yes, I think it is a lifetime of conditioning and fear of the unknown.

  • Most of them are, yeah. Like 99% of them. Maybe not the actors or Bugs Bunny.

  • No, there's some cis het crossdressers in my city.

Some men just like women's clothing and that's fine.

    • I think you are correct. A rough guess is that about 10% of men sometimes crossdress to some extent. It's hard to be accurate because of the stigma and secrecy.

  • I don't think just because you cross dress it means your gay. Could be, but not necessarily.

    • You are correct. Thanks for your comment

  • No I don’t, just because you cross dress doesn’t mean you’re gay

    • Thanks for answering, it's interesting seeing the male versus female opinion.

  • Years ago I asked online what happened in a gay relationship if their partner transitioned. The gay partner said they wouldn’t like it because they’re only interested in the same sex

    • I think that is correct, but the question refers to transvestism rather than transsexualism. A crossdresser wears items of clothing normally worn by the other sex whereas a transexual endeavours to actually change gender.

  • I don't assume they are, but my guess is that a good percentage are at least bi.

    • Thanks for your reply. Only the same % as the general population are gay or bi.

    • Not sure I believe that stat.

  • Yes, they are.

  • Not necessarily, but certainly bi-curious.

    • Your virtue is safe with me. I don't consider men for sexual favours.

  • At the very least he is mentally ill.

  • Nope they're obviously toubled

    • Interesting viewpoint

  • They are not necessarily gay, I don't wear women's clothing in public due to timidity & social stigmas but I do like to wear it sometimes, mostly dresses & skirts but I am straight.

    • A very common situation. I've got to the stage when I enjoy and feel no stigma.

  • Not all, maybe they just feel feminine

    • Many "outed" crossdressers including me, say that it helps relieve stress. Tension reaches breaking point and when or immediately after crossdressing, the tension goes for a while.

    • I guess the stress of being a man is released if I am getting it right , there is another guy on here that is a cross dresser and is married with children and not gay at all

    • Yes. My 1st memories of crossdressing are when I was 4, long before sexual or gender awareness. Most aren't gay.

  • Nope.
