A fantasy is something that one does not want or is afraid to tell and therefore is considered unnatural, dark or odd.

If it is something that is out of the ordinary, like BDSM, rape, animal, incest or any other perverted sexual interactions, then they are obviously dark and therefore, the people that practice them potentially dangerous to their partner.

I do not know if they are common but they are certainly not the norm.
