ARE MY PARENTS RIGHT TO LOCK ME UP TO KEEP ME SAFE AND PUNISH ME, BECAUSE I KEEP SNEAKING OUT WHEN GROUNDED AND HAVE DRUNK ALCOHOL?

for the past 2 days I have been confined to my bedroom ( WITH THE DOOR LOCKED WITH A KEY ) as a punishment for sneaking out while grounded and drinking underage. I still have another 2 days confinement to serve and its very miserable, my parents say I have had many opitunities to follow the rules but have ignored then so they say they have no option but to lock me in my bedroom to keep me safe and to punish me, I am NOT allowed out of my room at all except for the bathroom when I am escorted there and back, I have been set punishment essays to write each day, including the dangers of underage drinking and unacceptable behaviour and punishments, my older sister says I deserve to be punished like this and I should have been done ages ago, DO YOU THINK MY PARENTS ARE RIGHT, OR AM BEING PUNISHED TOO HARSHLY?

today is my last day on punishment, I have found it HORRIBLE, I have promised my parents I will behave and never sneak out again, I have missed 2 Christmas parties plus going out with friends, I DONT want to be confined again , my sister says that is the point of a harsh punishment to stop the wrongdoer from doing it again DO YOU AGREE WITH THAT OR DO YOU THINK I WAS PUNISHED TOO HARSHLY?

I was freed on Christmas eve after serving what I think is a far too harsh of a punishment, my parents made me promise to behave and never sneak out again, I had my fingers crossed so it doesn't count, I get a buzz out of sneaking out and as I said before BOUNCY BECKY does NOT do groundings, next time I sneak out I will NOT get caught so what do you say to that , you stuck on your high horse grown ups? ps happy new year?

  • You've posted like this before. If your gonna keep doing what your doing don't throw a fit online and grow the fuck up. If your gonna do stuff you know is gonna get you in trouble then stop doing it Seeing as most people on here are adults their gonna agree with the parents not some kid who wants to act out.

    • I know I have done wrong and deserve to be punished, all I am saying is I deserve another chance and I feel my punishment is to harsh its HURTING big time?

    • but the punishment HURTS, my friends have just called for me to go out bowling with them, my older sister took great pleasure in telling them I am being punished and confined to my room, I am serving 4 days imprisonment tomorrow is my last day , my parents said I should be punished longer but because its Christmas I am being freed early ?

    • its very unpleasant being locked in a room, I am not allowed tv phone etc, I am allowed my pc for a couple of hours per day as a prison privilege for good behavouir , I have to write 2 punishment essays per day , my parents say education is an important part of my punishment do you agree?

    • I REALLY hate this punishment I just want to be free again, today I have to write a 4 page essay on the importance of obeying the rues, I then have to copy it out making 8 BORING pages why does my punishment have to be so painful?

  • They are right but the truth is that you are ready for more experience than they think you are. The important thing is that you have to respect them enough to not get caught sneaking out or getting drunk, so that you do not disappoint them.

    • I won't be drinking anymore, but sneaking out is great fun but I don't like being locked in my room its not fun at all?

    • I have only drunk alcohol once and I didn't really like it anyway, but I don't like being locked up, my sister says that's the point of the punishment, to deter me from doing wrong again, but what is a deterrent?

    • This, unfortunately, is not going to end well. I have no good answers. I will ask you one thing at the ripe old age of 15. Please, please do not get pregnant out of rebellion or revenge. All it will do is make things worse for EVERYONE, especially Becky.

  • You get my sympathy but try to see it from the eyes of your sister: she is responsible for you and doesn't want you to get into any trouble. So my advice is to be a bit cooperative with her.

    • I know she means well, she overheard my talking about staying out late tonight so that is the main reason why I am locked in my room, she said its for my safety as well as a punishment, my parents are backing her and have said I MUST remain locked in until they return home tomorrow, I HATE being locked up I know its punishment but I have never been locked in my room before its MISREABLE?

  • Well, actually, that is borderline criminal. If you aren't manageable without such measures, your family has troubles that need to be addressed more.

    • if I am hones I wouldn't normally sneak out without permission, I just thought as my parents were away I would take advantage of my sister and sneak out, now I am locked up and I DONT like it what should I do?

    • Contact the police. It may be a lot of trouble, you may end up talking to a social worker for a few weeks, but locking you up is not a solution.

  • Report the one entrapment lock to the fire department. It's hugely unsafe.

    • well clearly they let you have a computer or phone. if they really wanted to punish you they would have taken that away too

    • excuse me I have had all my entertainment taken away tv, phone pc etc , I am allowed my laptop for 3 hours per day as a privilege for good behaviour , and if I complete my 4 page punishment essays per day , otherwise I sit in my room VERY VERY bored?
