I can speak based on personal experience,
I'm the most quiet person ever, extremely shy with an innocent face, yet I'm extremely kinky in bed.
All the guys I knew loved that about me and said it's such a shock how I become in bed (and they love it lol)
I think its because people need balance, and being so tame and calm in real life will give you a need for an outlet of all the craziness inside, and in most cases it's through sex, sex is a way of expressing yourself and letting go of all restraints ( or a way to be in restraints if you're into that kind of things 😉)
