This is a good question and the answer is straightforward but not easy.
The answer is both.
When you see a "ripe" young girl/woman - and, at my age, they are practically all beauties to me - of course, the reproductive instinct is still there. For example, I look at Taylor Swift and I silently think "My God, I would love to fuck her!" Of course, I am old enough to be her father.
But, then, another instinct kicks in: Knowing that, realistically, there is a lower age limit of what is appropriate.
And this happens for a variety of reasons.
One is a significant mismatch in what I call "formation events" - the events and times and places that shape who you become. Demographers and sociologists would say "generational cohorts".
"Generational Cohort Theory is the concept that a generation of individuals that share the same political, economic, and social events during the early stages of life will develop a similar set of beliefs, values, and behaviors."
So, because I was born in 1963 and Taylor Swift was born in 1989, we are not generational cohorts.
So, as you age, you also begin to feel more attracted to women of your generational cohort because of the shared "similar set of beliefs, values, and behaviors".
And, ironically, yes, women who are older become more attractive to you than when you were young. In fact, the "fucking instinct" changes to accept a wider range of women as you age. Don't get me wrong - at 14, if a boy even thinks that a person is female, he wants to fuck "her". But, shortly thereafter, older boys and young men basically limit themselves to "hot" and that is more selective and usually skews young. By my age, the definition of "hot" changes in part because you learn to see other things.
For instance, this is 58-year-old supermodel Paulina Porizkova. I see her today - and she's got miles on her - and yet I still see "Pauline Porizkova, super model". This is a bit hard to explain, but, once you've reached a certain age likely in your mid-to-late-40s, you get what I call the "age extrapolation sense". Because, you have seen an entire generation before you and after you grow up and older, you realize how people age, so you can age them forward or backward. This is one reason why people in the modeling industry can find supermodels when they are still kids in the single digits age.
Well, when I see Paulina now, she still looks lovely, but, also, at the same time, I also am seeing Paulina as she almost 40 years ago when she was the top model in the world.
The only thing that has changed is that she's gotten BETTER in terms of personality because she is more mature and realistic - she'd be a better partner now than she could be in her 20s. So, in that sense, she becomes more attractive to the older man when you look at the bigger picture... and that's what most older men do - look at the whole woman much more than when we were young when it is mostly about looks and sex.
Of course, there are some older men who are exceptions... like Donald Trump who only wanted young hot women and thus divorced his previous two wives for younger hotter wives and fooled around on his current wife as well.

I think this funny video illustrates the issue with generational cohorts. The young lady in this video is attractive but she's a bubble-headed millennial (or Gen-Z) and so I'd "fire" her too despite my reproductive instinct thinking "I would love to fuck her!"

But if i see they are open to it and are consciously aware of their choice , I wouldn't hesitate to have a relationship if they are mature enough and strictly 18 plus it's very rare though.

I think I can appreciate the attractiveness of those younger than me, but I definitely am more comfortable within my middle-aged range group. I don't really have a reason to go after anyone to begin with, as we have a happy 20+ year marriage :-)
A woman of any age, younger, same, orolder, can be attractive.
Im 54 and I find women above say 25 or so attractive. They're still half my age, and no, I wouldn't pursue someone that young even if I was single. But I haven't been attracted to children (under 18) since high school.
So the problem with your question is that there isn't a specific look or personality or mental capacity per age.
If you pointed out a 20 year old, there will always be a 30 year old thats exactly like him/her, and vice versa. I look and think the same now as I did as a teen, so any woman interested in me now would find my teen and 20s self just as attractive, simply because I've not changed any.
I feel your question is only going to make any sense to people who change drastically as they go from there teens to 30s, and even with those people, they still have younger or older people looking and thinking just like them.
