I often prance around naked in my own home or in my bf's place. I usually sunbath au naturale. I've also been to nudist camps. Yes, there are weirdos & perverts indeed but that's expected. Sometimes it works when I creep out a creep by staring back at him/them to give him/them a dose of their own medicine. When he/they turn away, I go about my own business. If not, I'll just move away.
I have enjoyed being naked since a young teen. I don't mind men looking at me. I enjoy looking at them. No big deal.
I am not an open nudist, that at home I stay nude. My once experience to nude beach was not comfortable like yours.

I'm sorry you felt that way but I can tell you that's not what nudism is about at all. nudism it's about being comfortable with yourself and your body. its about freedom, being free to wear nothing and being free to be naked whenever and wherever. nudism is about enjoying life and nudism is about being healthy. nudism it's NOT a fetish nor is it sexual.
Yes I am. I'm sorry you had that experience. I'd like to say what you experienced is an exception to the norm. Glances are to be expected, but outright staring isn't normal among nudists. Depending on what nude beach you were at (and what time of year) it may have been populated more by people looking for that experience rather than regular nudists.

I think since it was your first time, you were overly self conscience and figured anyone that even looked your way was probably looking at you, which they might have, but not just to see your bits.
Nudists tend be very polite and don't stare or look awkwardly at people, men or women.

no the opposite actually. Though I have come to a conclusion you can go nude but only at certain set out places where people like myself can't coincidentally be. My friend is a nudist and he figured it's a reasonable argument I had.
