100% for it! With a caveat. Back in my home state around 8 years ago, the attorney general forced this website (Backpage) to shut down over charges that it was enabling prostitution. Of course the prostitutes just went elsewhere. But around the time, a lot of anonymous prostitutes went online to complain about how hard... their work is. (Sorry, couldn't resist.)
Anyway, I couldn't believe how many prostitutes expressed revulsion for guys of different races or older guys. Yes, I get that we all have tastes. But if you're working in a therapeutic industry, you shouldn't on the one hand get to argue that you're providing this necessary, healthy service while on the other hand get to deny the necessary service to people you just don't like. If I were a massage therapist, I couldn't say no to a client JUST because he's Asian. That's racism! But as a sex worker I get to say "No Asians"? WTF?
If we regulated sex work, we'd get to make it something ore beneficial to more people--from the sex workers (mandatory safe sex, frequent STI testing, registration as a formal business...) to the large community of people who desperately need intimate touch.

@Asker I totally hear you. And I'd prefer business to operate with minimal government interference. But history shows that people just aren't ethically conscientious enough to do this. Worse, because successful businesses tend to make a lot of money and to amass power, people who're hurt but don't have similar wealth and power just tend to get hurt and ignored even more. Government interference seems to be a necessary evil to rein in human nature. Wish it weren't so. :/
I have less of a problem if the person is doing it by choice. If a person is doing it because of they are being held captive or a person is a minor that is wrong. Would I want my child doing it no. Also, in the U. S. there are no regulations to help to protect sex workers. No std testing and not doing it in a safe environment seems kind of scary but I think having hook ups with complete strangers a potentially dangerous thing too.
I think it is very easy for the rest of society to segregate people who work as sex workers as those people. The fact is that many people go to sex workers for various reasons and those people are part of the us of society.
We forget to there are some people who have a very difficult time finding partners like people with severe physical disabilities. I watched a video on you tube about men in Japan who were wheel chair bound who could not get partners. There was this service where women would go in and help them. Not sure how far the services would go but otherwise these men might not have any sexual contact for years or ever
Sex work and a human trafficked victim coincide but different... there are signs for that. some girls I’ve met I have asked specific questions to see if they are being forced pretty sad. I luckily am not but I still have to be careful especially because some guys are pimps I screen most and then if I feel off I’ll leave.
I'm against people taking advantage of women/young girls and taking their money away. And totally against them "snatching" and forcing them into this. I'm against girls being trained at a young age to this life, when it may not have been their desire or dream. Sick!

I dont like it because its unregulated. It should become a protected job like massage therapy and taxi drivers. A theoretical course should be done before they can be recognized as a prostitute. Secondly, there should only be a limited amount of prostitutes in a geographical location, like taxi drivers.
I think it should be this way because prostitution is already legal in my country but it stigmatizes al of just like massage therapy for example. Why are all markets regulated including massage therapy, but not prostitution? that makes no sense. It should not be allowed to be a 'get rich quick' scheme.

I'm for it, and think it should be more legalized to prevent abuse, rape, and increase tax revenue. Personally it isn't something I enjoy, but seeing the meth hookers is just sad, getting the ball rolling there would reduce a lot of addictions and crimes in America I think, also improve life and remove some stigma from being a prostitute.

Wouldn't that be easier with legalized places of work, employee entrances, and dedicated rooms rather than apps like locanto, pimps, trailing strip clubs, jack shacks, etc. Wig at work, different you out. We all do what we have to do to get by. You're just making more money than most at it.
When it’s totally voluntary I’m not against it, like someone really wanted to be a pornstar one day. However with the knowledge of why sex work is even a choice for a lot of women I find it unsettling. Aside from human trafficking. Often times when women do sex work they’re forced, usually bc of lack of opportunity to make a living or lack of self-esteem. I find it really disgusting that there’s a lot of guys that are the way that they are which is they’re cowardly perverts, preying on that. Getting off on objectification and degradation of women especially ones that look young because of hating themselves and trying to make up for their past of being rejected or they might even be pedophiles. Especially when they have the intent to have sex with someone that’s around their child’s age. They’re the same ones deeply afraid of women and will try making women feel like crap bc these guys are usually crap themselves. Now if there was a woman that just liked sex and decided that was what she wanted to do then that’s what she wants to do. Hopefully she asks herself why and is she doing it for her pleasure and happiness.
I think that we need sex workers just like any other service that you can pay for. There's a big market for it and I don't think it will ever really cease to exist. Prohibiting sex work is one of the most fatal things we could do in my opinion.
I'm not against it legally, I think everyone is free to do what they want if they aren't hurting anyone. But I am against it in terms of I would never pay for sex and think it's gross to do so. The girls that do it have very little self worth, if you can give a small monetary price for your dignity I can't respect you very much and obviously would never date a sex worker
