As for the difference. All fetishes are kinks, not all kinks are fetishes.
Basically if you have a kink it's something that for the lack of a better word "bends" your sexuality in a different direction from the mainstream vanilla world. A fetish is when it's basically required for you to get aroused.
Someone who enjoys hurting their partner for their mutual enjoyment but that have no problems getting hard with vanilla sex have sadism as a kink. If 9/10ths of your arousals happens because you've hurt someone it's probably a fetish however.
Also, fetishes tends to be fixations on things (although they don't *have* to be) like objects or body parts. For instance I have a fixation on the female genitals for my sadism. Giving a girl a spanking or hurting her breasts can be fun, but for me it's hurting her down there that really gets *me* going while other forms of pain might not be as interesting to me.
So having a girl in pain down there is essentially a fetish to me, because I *need* that to get hard.
There's a number of different ways that pain may be caused, but I'm more flexible in that regard, so that's a kink for me, does that make sense?
By contrast, if you say can't orgasm without your guy wearing say a police officers uniform or some such, it's a fetish. If it turns you on but you can enjoy many other things like say a British accent as well, then it's just a kink.

A kink is technically an unconventional sexual behavior or preference.
A fetish is something that a person MUST have to get aroused. They can't have sex or even get aroused without that thing.
So, just liking something does NOT make it a fetish.

Not exactly on the fetish side of things. All fetishes are kinks, but not the other way around. Think of a fetish as a kink you can't really manage without. But yes, it does feel like there's kind of two sides to fetishes. Both that dependency on the fetish (roleplay *can* be a fetish, but only if you genuinely can't manage without it), but there's also a hint of fixation on a thing or body part or some such in that word, although it's not technically a requirement for something to be a fetish.

My opinion only. A fetish is a thing without sexual connotation that people sexualize like, famously, feet. To me, a kink is something directly connected with sexuality including, in particular, things done to and with certain body parts and the fluids that are associated with.
