ASEXUALITY - What Do You Think of It?

Asexuality is the lack of sexual attraction to others, or low or absent interest in or desire for sexual activity. It may be considered a sexual orientation or the lack thereof.

  • Actual asexuals as individuals are fine but... The community is so harmful. I see so many 12-15 year olds calling themselves asexuals when in reality theyre mostly kids who haven't even gone through puberty yet. Thats harmful for a kid, and it implies that kids the same age who aren't asexuals are sexual. Then I'll see tons of depressed kids and adults claiming theyre ace forgetting theyre on tons of meds that literally list "decreased sex drive" as a symptom.
And the community wants to claim theyre as oppressed as gay men and lesbians and bisexuals, when theyre nowhere near that at all, and they'll try to take the spotlight when life and death issues are being discussed.
So... Asexuality is fine, many asexual individuals are fine. But the modern asexual community is absolutely toxic

  • I think for me it was medication that murdered my sex drive. I was on antianxiety and once I got off it. I just went nuts cause its so great.

So for many I know its medication not a lack of a sex drive. Still there are many who just care less and are happy to do it themselves.

    • Do what themselves?

    • masturbate silly to take care of thier low sex drive

    • They don't masturbate because they have a low or no sex drive.

  • Obviously we are all free to love who we choose. However, I can't imagine an asexual individual having a long term relationship with an individual who has a robust sexual appetite. Unless they don't if the active individual seeks pleasure elsewhere

  • I'd be friends with them, but never a couple. I'm no asexual myself, so it wouldn't work out

  • It's sad. I couldn't help but feel sorry for someone with that affliction.

    • How come?

    • Because great sex is one of the ultimate pleasures in life. Not experiencing great sex is like never experiencing the warmth of the sun on your face, a swim in the ocean, a hike through a cathedral-like forest, or really tasty food.

    • They experience all the other "great" things you've mentioned. Sex isn't everything in life. And they don't feel like they're missing out since they don't have the attraction of sex. So there is no need to feel sorry for them.
