Can cuddling be platonic?

I'm straight but I've never dated anyone and I don't intend to anytime soon but I really like cuddling.
Do you think it's possible to cuddle with my guy friends without getting into a relationship with them?

I mean, to me cuddling with people is no different than cuddling with dogs and cats. My problem is I'm allergic to them so I gotta stick with humans haha

If you cuddle very much with a guy, he is going to get aroused unless you are really very, very unattractive to him. There is nothing platonic about having a bone in your britches.

  I'll be honest, the majority of my guy friends think I'm cute cause I'm younger than them and short BUT they all know I'm innocent and for the most part think of me as one of the guys I think. Which is why I have faith that they'll be platonic

  LOL what if I just told them upfront that it's platonic? Do you think things would be fine then Also, I don't want to date because I don't think I'm ready for that type of commitment. I'm busy as a college student already I don't need to be tied down by a boy.

  I don't think telling them in advance will change much. They might say, "Yeah, sure, I can do that," but that doesn't mean that they won't get aroused. How will you feel if you are snuggling and you feel something growing in their pants?

  O I thought cuddling was done sitting. I don't intend on snuggling with guys while laying down or anything.

  I've cuddled with female friends while laying down without getting aroused. It's just a different mindset.

I've platonically cuddled female friends before. We both had no desire to get in each other's pants, we just wanted to cuddle.

  I understand that some people have a hard time separating things like bodily contact from sexual feelings but I think it's better that way. Same with nudity. Just because I'm nude in a space with a Nude girl doesn't mean I'm going to immediately want sex.

  I guess we're just part of the enlightened minority then. Their loss on the platonic cuddling and cross-gender friendships. Some of my deepest friendships are with women, I can't imagine my life without those friendships. I share everything but carnal knowledge with some of them.

  Oh you seem like you would understand me then haha Also, do you think napping is the same concept? One of my guy friends invited me to nap with him and people are telling me there's no way it can be done platonically.

  After one of my friends was broken up with rather abruptly she spent the next few nights sleeping in my bed with me while both trying to find a new place to live and come to terms with everything.

  Oh that's cool. Did you two just share the bed? I mean, if it makes any difference, my friend has a twin size bed so if i had napped with him we would likely be cuddling too since it's small

  Yeah- we just shared the bed. It was a queen so we had a little more room, but the room was very small so the bed was against a wall on one side and one of us would always have to awkwardly crawl over the other.

Maybe for you.. just be certain you aren't leading them on as cuddling may signify you want to be more than friends.

  Nope! Men and women are different in the way they show affection. Women can cuddle with anyone without liking the person. We men usually can't. And if we do, we may actually start to like the girl we cuddle so that's a risk. Hugging is fine, not cuddling.

It is all about communication. Let them know what you want and that you don't want sex to mess things up for a while, that way they do not get mislead.
