  • Yes, but there is a reason it’s not recommended as therapy. Sex involves a second person. The relationship you have with that person and the kind of sex you have matter a lot. You cannot go to your wife and tell her “dear, I have depression so we shall fuck twice a day”. If you’re partner is not that much into it, it won’t be enjoyable sex and you don’t get the good brain hormones. If you’re not that much into it, no good brain hormones. A so-called sex addict will have a lot of sex and never get the good brain hormones. Sex is a highly satisfying kind of activity that can help keep your neuro chemistry in a better place if your relationships are already functional for your well-being. It’s too much of a risk to just recommend sex because it can go in a very bad way.
