    • Regarding your update: mine was pretty awesome and she felt the same way. Physically it was awkward. We had these parts and figuring out where they went and what they did was a new experience. But we had two HUGE benefits: a safe and comfortable space and almost unlimited time. She was an only child and her parents had gone into the city for an entire day. We were able to have sex for the first time at her house and enjoy a large, real bed and to explore and play and have sex with no time constraints. It really was wonderful for both of us.

    Yes, getting naked is an extremely awkward experience for virgins. And then seeing each other's private parts is something exciting (on screen and real are very different experiences).

    And novelty can be awkward. If the couple should follow "standard" textbook foreplay, then trying to touch each other intimately, attempting to perform oral sex, even kissing and hugging each other naked can be "special".

    In conclusion, yes, sex between two virgins can still be awkward (weird) despite the prevalence of porn.

  • It can. Do some foreplay first before, so you can get relaxed and aroused a little easier, rather than rush into the sex part. Like blowjobs, eating out, kissing on body parts, nibbling, this will loosen your body up, so it's not uncomfortable.
