You probably wouldn't be continuing to have sex with each other for so long if you didn't feel quite close to each other. Sexual feelings can be very profound and result in meaningful relaionships. The significance of sex is (contrary to what one often hears) under-rated. Our sexuality is never just about sex, it's about what we think of ourselves, other people, the rules of our society. It can be an expression of almost anything.
But the question here, for you seems to be, "What kind of relationship do YOU want with him?"
and "What does He want with you?" Try talking about it.
If want it just to continue as it is, then do, but your are likely to get closer and more attached to each other.
I love cuddles, I think most people do! I think most of us also love cuddling too. But we generally only cuddle people we feel close to, just as we generally only have sex with people we feel close to!

I don't understand how people could care about the person they have sex and not want to cuddle afterward. I mean, it's not a random hookup with a stranger. If they are your friend (with benefits), it seems reasonable to assume that you care about each other.
Whenever I hook up with my fwb, it's always at his place and I always sleep over. We usually fall asleep cuddling. It's just what we do. There's no feelings there...it's just a comfort thing, and we both like the feeling of being close to another body.
I really need to find a woman that feels the same way.
