There are many things that get on my nerves but one of them is people who think they're promoting feminism, but are just being down right jerks.
1. When you slut shame other girls
Is that girl on instagram wearing a small swimsuit? unless the swimsuit has a swastik print or something, then who the fuck cares!
2. Thinking that being a feminist automatically means you deserve respect
Yes Taylor, other women have the right to make a joke about you, the fact you're a woman doesn't mean you have to be allies. Feminism ain't a cult.
I guess that by this logic we're not allowed to bad-mouth female murderers, because they're women too.
3. Degrading men
You all complain about how women are used as sexual props in men's music videos but this is okay?
No, it does not make you a 'strong woman'. You're no better than the guys who use women as props.
4. Feminism is made to support both genders, not to make females 'superior'
Again, like my last point, the core definition of feminism is 'gender equality'. Since when acting like women are superior to men is considered gender equality?
5. Not standing up for transgender people
Apparently 'girl code' is not available if you're a transgender woman.

10. Treating female nipples like they're voldemort
Female breasts are not a sexual organ, stop treating them like they are. The only difference between male and female breasts is that female breasts are a little bit more inflated, to, you know, feed babies. Are you scared of water bottles?
11. Instead of helping women who have abusive partners, you're calling them 'weak' and 'pathetic'.

12. Also, shaming sex workers
Doing porn is not illegal, and it's the goddamn person's choice! And I'm saying this again, are they hurting you by doing porn? no? THEN SHUT THE FUCK UP.

Again, being a feminist means supporting equal rights, not having double standards.

I think they are our equals (in worth). In principle, that's what feminism is about. The term has been so twisted that people now thinks it's a cult with the goal of enslaving men. True, there are many women who call themselves feminists when they are actually misendrists, but it's not the word's fault. It's just being misused.

2. Thinking that because someone isn't a feminist means they deserve disrespect. Feminism doesn't have a monopoly on any of it's principles.
3. Such imagery isn't necessarily degrading. Others don't get to tell me what I find degrading. If you're going to be sex negative then ok, at least be consistent about it across genders, let's not lie to ourselves like it doesn't go both ways.

11. Does that happen? There are millions in funds that go into women's centres and all kinds of services for women. Men have abusive partners too, there's far fewer services (unisex or men only) available to men.

I have always thought of feminism as standing for elevating the social status of women to that of men. Hence, feminism, at its core, is centered on women and their interests and liberties.
Assuming that men and women are socially unequal, and that men are higher in rank than women, a philosophy that values equality can go either way. You can either elevate the status of women to that of men, or lower the status of men to that of women. However, it seems in our society we have focused more on women's interests and liberties that men's interests and liberties are sort of neglected. Feminists may blame it on patriarchy and sexism, but I suspect their focus has never really been on men in the first place.
I mean, one of Feminism's core ideas is that women are treated worse than men in society. So yes obviously it focuses much more on women's issues. It does however pay some amount of attention to men in certain areas, because in many areas it's actually basically the same issue affecting both men and women, and you can't really address one without addressing the other.

@Opinion owner: Just because the issue is worse in less developed countries doesn't mean it doesn't exist or shouldn't be cared about in developed ones. Because it definitely does exist here, and it definitely is still an issue. @CancerianMan81: "Higher ups"? That's not a thing. Feminism doesn't have ranks or some kind of organized hierarchy or anything. It does have different movements and divisions within it, some more vocal or more radical than others, but there's no rank system. And what exactly do you mean by "coming together as a whole"? Because that sort of rhetoric has been used in a lot of different places to put down all sorts of other movements, including stuff like the civil rights movement.

You do realize that when scientists publish papers that show one thing or another to be true, they provide their evidence in the paper, instead of simply saying "X is true. If you don't believe us, do the experiment yourself." That's because rational people (such as scientists) recognize it to be their own responsibility to provide the evidence to back up their claims.
