My take on virginity

[Caution: This is very unorthodox Take, containing strong language. Not recommended for intellectually disabled, heart patients and minors]

Decoding the virginity dilemma.

Vigrinity, some of you are holding it between your legs while rest are not, depending on your perception. (classic question) What is virginity & who is virgin? A virgin is someone who has never had sex. But 'sex' is defined differently by different people. Most people consider that you will lose your virginity literally when you perform vaginal intercourse with a penis. So, how do we detect a virgin? You can say a girl is virgin if she got an intact hymen between her legs. Hymen? It is the mother of virginity. Without hymen, virginity could not be conceptualize. Biologically, The hymen is a thin, fleshy tissue that stretches across part of the opening of the vagina. When a penis enters into vagina, it perforates the hymen and takes away your virginity. Happy ending!

But this statement is limited to heterosexual people only. What about virginity of homosexual people. Homosexual people want to lose it too. You people are too selfish, you didn't make the statement of virginity universally valid. How does a penis will take the V-Card of another penis and a vagina for another vagina? According to homosexual people, you can even lose it by performing anal (between gays) or using dildo / fingering / oral (between lesbians). But doesn't it violate the heterosexual concept about virginity?

Why virginity is so necessary? Most males want their wife to be virgin because it means she is pure. Finding a girl's hymen safe is like a seraphic sign for them. It seems like she never touched a penis in her life (even if she had a mastery in BJs). They feel honoured, and the girl will be happy because she'll be venerated as a holy creature. There are so many other factors like religious, spiritual and moral beliefs; family and personal values; desire; friends' opinions; love; and/or relationships.

Going straight to the point, why this hymen is so necessary and why girls will have to give proof of their virginity? Guys, why don't you give proof of your virginity? [possible crosstalk: because we guys don't have hymen] No you are wrong. Nature never partialised between men and women. There is hymen equivalent in males as a white lacy skin on the foreskin. So why there is not a single guy on earth who possess his virginity proof. [possible crosstalk: It can be removed by masturbation] If your V-Card proof can be damaged by masturbation then girls' hymen can be damaged by physical activities like horseback riding and biking etc. So next time if you didn't find that comical hymen, don't blame her and never doubt her character.

Modern views :- I want a non-virgin partner because I don't want to hook-up with an amateur. -What do you want? A lover or a pornstar? ; Is being virgin a turn-off? How do we reproduce then? *face-palm*

So what is virginity actually? Virginity is the state of being naive, innocent or literally say being pure. So how are you supposed to say that making a contact of your sexual organ with opposite sex will take away your purity? Virginity is not a tangible object. Such things can't contaminate the character/identity of the person. Virginity is a smokescreen created by the society in order to earn fresh meat. Virginity comes from within. Take these apples as an example :-

[Now it's time for something controversial] In my opinion people can still be a virgin even after the sex. One can't blame someone to be a non-virgin if he/she had sex because as I stated above "sex can't contaminate the purity of the person". Virginity is more an intellectual rather than corporal. It is a state of mind whether you are a virgin or not. If you had sex with a person you were in love, you maintained your virgin status (If it's not your bad-habit)*. What makes a person non-virgin? Initiating sex in ill-mannered way or abusing sex will take your virginity. If you are using sex to fulfull your greed (money, favour, intentions), not your sexual needs or love, your are not a virgin. Your soul, your mentality, your deeds are not pure. (If you are a rapist, slut, whore, player you are not a virgin)* (rape victims are virgins)*

[possible crosstalk: So I agreed, I never had sex, so keeping my (so-called) virginity is worthless?] No, I'm totally in favour of not doing sex with anybody on the streets. You did it right. You waited for a right person. It's your body, you have rights to choose a right partner to have sex with. Infact I'll teach my kids to stay away from sex until they become mature. Virginity is necessary evil. If you had sex with wrong partner, it was just a mistake. We all do mistakes. Nobody is perfect. The life is not over for you. Self-esteem boosts your purity of mind.

Bottom-line: Don't judge a person's virginity physically, consider it mentally.

PS: These are my personal opinions, you don't need to follow them. It is advised to stay in your comfort-zone and follow your precious traditional views and beliefs. The only motto to write this take is just to spread the general awareness between the people who consider the virginity as a divine object and ditch the nicest and innocent people because of their disbelief. I hope you learned something from this and changed your perspective about the things in right way.

  • This made my day, I had been raped at a young age, and I always wanted to wait for marriage, my husband actually didn't realize this, since I was so awkward, it didn't make sense, he said he thought I "must've drunkenly had sex and didn't remember" I couldn't even describe how ashamed I was that he told me that, after I opened up.   • Yeah I think virginity is actually very much a state of mind. There is more than one type of virginity. Oral, vaginal, anal etc. I personally decided to save vaginal & anal for marriage for several reasons. One is to have 0% chance of pregnancy or STI. I'm not ready for a child, I don't take birth control for health reasons & condoms can break. It's just logical to me.

    if a woman was born a man, and sexually identifies as a woman, she is medically and physiologically not a woman.

    if a woman was vaginally raped, but has not had consenting sex, she is not a virgin.

    but then the hymen repairs itself over time, so the concept of virginity will probably evolve along with our understanding.

  • I understand your intentions with this article, but you can't change the context of a word with ideas. You have to change the ideas, not definitions, i. e. "Born again Virgins". Your proposal lacks integrity, due to contradictions springing up in your defined context of "Virginity". Sexuality habits grow with a person, and acting out sexually, due to a plethora of reasons, can occur with both sexes. Choosing to continue, or discontinue unhealthy attitudes enabling destructive sexual habits has nothing to do with virginity. The term "Reborn Virgin" sums up your thesis, and people are very familiar with the term. You should have discussed the difference between a virgin and a reborn virgin, instead of trying to re contextualize the word.
