Did I over react?

I have lived with my relatives for a long time now and i am very close and open to them. They know my limits and boundaries and stuff.

But during these days while being together in the house, the four of us decided to have fun and play games and stuff and while playing truth or dare i was dared to take my top off which was all in fun but later on i thought what i did was inappropriate and acted a little strange the following day avoiding them completely from a conversation till we sat down and had a talk about it much later. Please dm me if you want to.

Was i over reacting or was it normal to feel that way?

  • You said your reaction amounted to you acting, “a little strange the following day avoiding them completely from a conversation till we sat down and had a talk about it much later.” This did not include (or at least you did not mention) fits of anger, throwing priceless breakables, spray painting swastikas on the walls, or tying your relatives in chairs to feed them to starved chihuahuas. If what you described is complete and accurate, you sought some time to think about the situation and how you felt about it before bringing the issue out into the open with the other people involved so that you could all discuss it in a mature and intelligent fashion. I don’t know how normal that is for you, but there is nothing of “over-reacting” in what you did.

    • Thank you..

  • Taking your top off in front of your relatives during a game of T/D is very odd. But even more odd, why'd they ask you to do so? [I'm under the assumption this was a guy/girl mix]. y'all aren't from West Virginia, are ya?

    • Can u dm?

  • Normal to feel that way, that's family. They shouldn't have even asked that.

  • No big deal. It was fun.

  • I'd say you didn't overreact, that was inappropriate of them to ask you to take off your top

  • rule #1 of being an adult

    never play truth or dare

  • No you didn't overreact you were put in a weird situation which made you feel uncomfortable. you did the right thing by speaking up for yourself and confronting that family member for what he or she did

    • Thank you... but it wasn't exactly like they put me in the situation.. they dared me and i cud have said yes or no.. it was my decision

  • You weren't overreacting. Why on earth would they say that?

I'd be seriously confused as to why any of my cousins would ask me to do that. Doesn't really matter if it's in a game or not.

    • Okay.. thanks

  • If it was your dare then you just over reacted the after effects of it

  • You didn't specify which relatives or the genders. Overall, I really don't see much wrong since it was your choice.
