Making love is much more important for a long term relationship. Casual sex is just a way to relieve your pleasures and I don’t recommend it if you are looking for someone to potentially spend your life with. Making love is just more personal and longterm.

To me casual sex is like when you do it with a fuck buddy and there is no feelings its just having sex and you do it with more one person. Making love is like with your partner and you mean it and you only doing it with your lover.

Making love, as it implies, involves having feelings and emotions for the person, ie love. And it depends on what the goal is: to just have sex, or to feel a bond to the other during sex.

Ones special the other is to satisfy a basic human need.
They can both be satisfying and really help you to grow as a person. Both can be dissatisfying and crush you. Especially if the dynamics are unhealthy. You may question making love being unhealthy. An abuser will abuse you and tell you it's making love. A casual fling may promise you satisfaction but totally just get their rocks off.
What changes these both is the real feelings or lack of. You can love someone and fuck, you can love someone and make love. It all depends
Both physically feel good, but I tended to regret my hookups afterward, which is why I don't do that anymore.

To me its all about the intimacy. I've had sex before but only made love with one person. To me it isn't about how slow or fast hard or gentle, quick or long. It has to do with the connection you have with the person. I would consider the kinky shit me and my SO do to be making love more than the soft slow sex. During the kink i have to have complete trust that my spouse respects my needs and wants and even if he isn't crazy about it he does it because he wants to please me and vice versa.
