Do a lot of people seem to ate amy schumer because her jokes go too far and push boundaries and she's essentially too honest?

I am just getting into her stuff. Sometimes its yep going too far. Its like dang gurl have some empathy? I don't know. But anyway... Sometimes its like wow... Yeah it seems like she's being very honest.

For example making a joke about people with aids deserving it. That was really... Just too far to the point where its not really funny.

But when she said guys are gross cause its like they want us to be covered in their semen like we are from the Carrie movie... Its like yeah guys have pretty stupid desires and she's being honest. Girls in corn act excited by that shit but in reality in our heads girls are just letting you put cum on them because... Well who knows why but we dont think its cool or enjoyable or anything. Guys are gross. She has a point.

Another thing is she's vwry imaginative. Very rare. Take your boring safe comedians and shove them. she's not predictable and i like that. Sure i have to sit through a few jokes that are less than funny.. But its ok... Fr now... Mwahahha. Ahahahah!

And she stole jokes? Ok... Are jokes copyrighted now?

Also she's pretty and so is her voice. she's cute and i adore her.

I just don't find her very funny. All of her humor is date, sex and women's period and toilet jokes. I don't mind them if they're funny but I find her jokes tired and repetitive and the times I've watched her, that's her whole act. I think she pushes the edge just for attention and not because it's a really great joke worth telling.

And yeah, in the comedy community, you don't steal another comedian's jokes. I don't know if she or not did but it's an honor and respect thing and it's looked upon by other comedians extremely negatively.

I also think she likes to be outrageous and dish it out but is also very quick to play the victim card if anything like that is done to her. Back before she became really well known I followed her on twitter for a short time. She was on Kimmel and wore a very tight dress. She tweeted about the appearance with a picture of her in the dress and I tweeted back that her dress was so tight, I could tell what she had for lunch. She blocked me. So much for living on the edge and telling people if they have a problem with her comedy, get over it cause they're only jokes.

I don't watch much stand up comedy these days, I know that some of her older stuff I saw was offensive. I do watch her cooking show that she has with her husband sometimes (Learning to cook with Amy Schumer) and I find her way funnier and more endearing on that.

Yeah it's really cute. He does everything on the show because he's a chef and she tries to help but she doesn't have a clue, lol. She just makes a bunch of funny comments and he gives her very simple tasks on the show.

Oh I don't know how to cook either, i just tune in to see their relationship dynamic. I think she's just out of he element cooking, but her comments are funny and it's cute that she doesn't know how to do stuff. LIke I think I remember they were using the barbeque outside and her husband had to go inside and prepare something for the meat. she couldn't help him with that so he said that she could watch the meat for him. Then he shut the lid on the barbeque so she was just standing there staring at nothing, lol.

I have no idea, I haven't really been watching it regularly or anything. I just catch the odd episode here and there and it's funny. I think according to google Amy Schumer learns to cook hasn't been renewed yet for a 3rd season or something.

Thanks. I was always in to reality tv and their cooking show feels more like it's a glimpse into Amy's home life. She kinda seems like she might be fun to hang out with just like as a neighbour or something, lol.

Mostly i think its because vulgarity is great with humour, but just awkward/uncumfortable to listen to without it. Amy is funny in the same way that a the teacher saying penis or vagina in sex ed at school is funny... but nobody thinks the teachers material is comedic...

She uses the fact that there are lots of sexist men who don't even give female comics a chance before dismissing them as unfunny as her excuse for poor feedback but while that is something a lot of female comics have to put up with, and it sucks! most of those girls are actually funny. she's just a self-conceited narcissist who has the very occasional good joke, although these are usually the ones she stole, who is making it harder for female comics to be taken seriously haha

Well the joke theft thing is actually a really big deal because that's someone else's work product; it's a comedian's bread and butter, so stealing someone's shit is seriously not cool.

As for the rest of your post; the biggest complaints I've heard about Amy are just that her jokes aren't very funny. Forget about honesty and subject matter for a moment, she doesn't have that undefinable "funny" factor. Whitney Cummings is a much funnier woman, in my opinion.

Her comedy isn’t that great & she’s known for stealing jokes. We tried watching one of her netflix specials and turned it off. Her jokes were all about sexual type stuff. Its like she was probably an ugly teen and just started experiencing it in her middle age.
